Two tied for lead at World Super 6 European Tour event
PERTH, Australia (AP) — Miguel Tabuena birdied nine of his first 10 holes Thursday on his way to a 7-under-par 65 and a share of the first-round lead at the World Super 6 European Tour event at Lake Karrinyup.
Tabuena was tied with Kristoffer Reitan, who had eight birdies and a bogey. They had a two-stroke lead over Benjamin Campbell and Richard McEvoy.
HAMBURG, Germany (AP) — Richard McEvoy won his first European Tour title at the age of 39 after a dramatic finish to the European Open in Hamburg on Sunday.
The Englishman holed a 20-foot putt for birdie on the last hole to secure a one-shot victory ahead of Renato Paratore, Christofer Blomstrand and German amateur Allen John.
DeChambeau, McEvoy lead European Open by 1
HAMBURG, Germany (AP) — Bryson DeChambeau shared a one-shot lead with Richard McEvoy heading to the final round of the European Open on Saturday.
Both golfers seek their first European Tour title.
DeChambeau started the third round ahead by a shot.
But McEvoy carded a 3-under 69 for the Englishman to lead the tournament at 12 under. DeChambeau had to birdie the last hole to tie him with a 70 at Green Eagle Golf Courses.
HAMBURG, Germany (AP) — Bryson DeChambeau reeled off four birdies in the last seven holes to shoot a 4-under 68 and remain top of the leaderboard after the second round of the European Open on Friday.
The 24-year-old American, who led overnight, finished with a 10-under total of 134. He is one stroke ahead of Richard McEvoy of England (65) and Matthias Schwab (67) of Austria.
Suri and McEvoy share lead at European Open
HAMBURG, Germany (AP) — Julian Suri birdied five of the last eight holes to join Richard McEvoy of England for a share of the lead at 6-under 66 in the opening round of the European Open on Thursday.
The 26-year-old American started with a birdie but dropped a shot at the second. There were no more bogeys afterward as Suri racked up another six birdies. Suri and McEvoy — who also shot six birdies and was bogey-free — have a one-stroke lead.
