Lee leads Vanderbilt to win over Tennessee State
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Saben Lee is starting to become more comfortable in his return to point guard.
The Vanderbilt sophomore scored a season-high 23 points, Joe Toye tied a career high with 18 and the Commodores beat Tennessee State 95-76 on Saturday.
Lee moved from shooting guard to point after freshman Darius Garland suffered a season-ending knee injury in the fifth game against Kent State. Garland is projected as a lottery pick in the NBA Draft.
Vandy extends home winning win streak by beating Florida
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — With just under 14 minutes left, things didn't look good for Vanderbilt.
The Commodores were down by 11 points and Florida seemed poised for a road win.
But then the Memorial Magic energized Vanderbilt again as the Commodores rallied to their fifth straight home win with a 71-68 victory over the Gators on Saturday.
LaChance’s 3 gives Vandy 81-80 win over Mississippi State
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — All kinds of thoughts swirled through Riley LaChance's mind after an official reviewed a replay of his game-winning shot.
LaChance swished a 3-pointer from the top of the key with .5 seconds left, giving Vanderbilt an 81-80 win over Mississippi State on Wednesday night.
LaChance's teammates mobbed him near half-court before an official checked to make sure his left foot wasn't on the 3-point arc and that time hadn't expired.
Vanderbilt hits 11 3-pointers in win over Georgia
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jeff Roberson and Riley LaChance have carried much of the scoring load for Vanderbilt lately.
But the 1,000-career-point scorers got some help as five Commodores broke into double figures in an 81-66 win over struggling Georgia on Wednesday night.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee guard Jordan Bowden disagreed with his coach's assessment this week that the sophomore guard wasn't slumping.
He made sure to break out in a big way on Tuesday night.
Bowden scored 19 points and shot 5 of 7 from 3-point range as Tennessee built a 20-point second-half lead before hanging on for a 67-62 victory over Vanderbilt.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Riley LaChance spent a lot of time in the gym over the past week shooting free throws and working on his shot after missing three late in a loss to Kentucky.
The Vanderbilt senior got a chance at a bit of redemption Saturday afternoon and didn't miss.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Vanderbilt turned to its three seniors and a freshman to end a three-game skid.
Seniors Matthew Fisher-Davis, Jeff Roberson and Riley LaChance each scored in double figures as did freshman Max Evans in an 81-48 rout of Houston Baptist on Wednesday night.
LaChance rallies Vanderbilt to 74-62 win over Radford
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Riley LaChance almost stopped Vanderbilt's three-game losing streak by himself.
The 6-foot-2 guard from Brookfield, Wisconsin, scored a career-high 27 points in a 74-62 win over Radford on Tuesday night.
"Riley was sensational," Commodores coach Bryce Drew said. "We talked about imposing your will on the game and he was the smallest one out there and yet his will was the biggest and he made play after play to carry us throughout the game."
Vanderbilt pulls away in 2nd half, beats UNC Asheville 79-76
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jeff Roberson's big night was both a highlight and a red flag for Vanderbilt.
The 6-foot-6 forward from Houston had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Commodores to a 79-76 win over UNC Asheville in the first round of the NIT Season Tip-Off on Friday night.
Roberson became the first Commodore to post three consecutive double-doubles since Dan Langhi in 1998.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The memory of a blown lead in the closing minutes to Arkansas two weeks ago was still fresh on the minds of Vanderbilt on Tuesday night.
The Commodores certainly played like they wanted to make amends for that disheartening defeat, jumping out to a 25-4 lead and never looking back on their way to a 72-59 win over the Razorbacks.
Maten, Parker help Georgia knock off Vanderbilt
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Yante Maten scored 21 points, Juwan Parker added 17 points and Georgia beat struggling Vanderbilt 76-68 on Tuesday night.
J.J. Frazier finished with 15 points, five assists and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (12-6, 4-2 Southeastern Conference), who have won three of four.
Vanderbilt, which trailed nearly the entire game, has lost four straight — its longest skid since January 2015 when it dropped seven in a row.
Vanderbilt tops LSU in SEC record 3-point shootout, 96-89
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Riley LaChance knocked down four 3-pointers and scored a season-high 24 points as Vanderbilt defeated LSU 96-89 in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams Thursday night.
The teams combined to set an SEC record with 33 treys. Vanderbilt (7-6) was 16-of-32 from deep while LSU (8-4) matched the school record with 17 made 3-pointers in 28 attempts.
Vanderbilt holds off Santa Clara for 76-66 victory
LAS VEGAS (AP) — After two straight losses, Vanderbilt coach Bryce Drew was hoping something would spark his Commodores.
Turns out the Thanksgiving loss to Butler in the Continental Las Vegas Invitational semifinals established a toughness and resiliency into his players.
Luke Kornet had 18 points and six rebounds to lead Vanderbilt, which held off feisty Santa Clara in a 76-66 win on Friday night at the Orleans Arena.
Fisher-Davis, LaChance lead Vanderbilt to win
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Riley LaChance gave Vanderbilt a second-half spark, which was just what Vanderbilt needed.
The junior guard scored nine of the Commodores' first 11 points in the seconds half as Vanderbilt pulled away for a 75-52 win over Norfolk State in the on-campus portion of Las Vegas Invitational on Friday night.
His surge turned a nine-point halftime lead into a 16-point advantage and the Spartans (2-2) never got closer than 11 the rest of the way.
