Pieters, Detry give Belgium its first World Cup title
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Thomas Pieters and Thomas Detry gave Belgium its first World Cup of Golf title Sunday, holding on for a three-stroke victory at Metropolitan Golf Club.
Pieters and Detry closed with a 4-under 68 in foursomes to finish at 23-under 265. They opened with a 63 in fourballs, shot 71 in driving rain and wind Friday in foursomes and had a 63 on Saturday in fourballs to take a five-stroke lead into the final round. The Belgians each earned $1.12 million
World Cup: Ancer seems to have the answer in Australia
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Abraham Ancer won last week's Australian Open in Sydney and with his teammate Roberto Diaz is tied for second at the World Cup, five strokes behind Belgium going into the final round.
Ancer, who shot 65 with Diaz on Saturday, was asked whether the food had something to do with his strong play in Australia.
Pinckney, Bae, Diaz share lead in Web.com Tour Finals event
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Scott Pinckney shot an 8-under 63 on Saturday for a share of the lead in the Albertsons Boise Open, the third of four Web.com Tour Finals events.
Pinckney matched two-time PGA Tour winner Sangmoon Bae and Roberto Diaz at 14-under 199 at Hillcrest Country Club. Bae shot 67, and Diaz had a 65 on a day when 11 players were tied for the lead.
Pinckney returned to play the Web.com Tour this season after missing the majority of the 2017 season because of a back problem.
Former USC Aiken golfers Matt Atkins and Roberto Diaz will both be making the jump to the PGA Tour next season after finishing in the top 25 on the Web.com Tour money list at the end of the regular season.
Atkins, who finished No. 19 on the money list had already locked up a spot on the PGA Tour prior to the final regular season event.
He won the El Bosque Mexico Championship early in the season and finished in the top 20 at five other events.

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Ethan Tracy won the Club Colombia Championship on Sunday for his first Web.com Tour title, holing out from 101 yards for eagle on the 18th to get into a playoff and beating Roberto Diaz with a 20-foot birdie putt on the par 5 on the second extra hole.
