FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Brady Davis threw for two touchdowns and James Robinson ran for two more and Illinois State beat Colorado State 35-19 on Saturday.
Davis finished with 271 yards passing for the Redbirds (2-0). Robinson ran for 184 yards and Markel Smith ran for 65 yards and a score and caught a 60-yard touchdown pass.

CHICAGO (AP) — A man who expected to be paid a finder's fee for handing over a 16-year-old Chicago girl to a pimp has pleaded guilty to federal sex trafficking charges.
Charles McFee says he was never paid the $250 promised by the alleged pimp, Joseph Hazley, for Desiree Robinson. According to McFee, Hazley claimed the girl was costing him too much in makeup, clothes and gasoline needed to drive her to meetings with customers.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have raised a new flag in honor of Jackie Robinson on the 70th anniversary of his first game at Wrigley Field.
His granddaughter Meta Robinson helped raise a white flag with "Robinson 42" in blue letters on the right-field foul pole hours before Thursday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Scotty Bowman was 12 years old when he saw Jackie Robinson play in Montreal. More than 70 years later, Bowman says Montreal welcomed Robinson during the Hall of Famer's one season with the International League Royals.

Betty L. Hussey, 82, of Robinson, died at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at Heritage Health in Robinson.
She was born Aug. 2, 1934, in Robinson, the daughter of Prior Harvey and Gladys (Gupton) Harvey, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Maxine; by her sisters-in-law, Char Harvey and Mary Hussey; by her brother-in-law, Bob Hussey; and by her grandsons Andrew Hussey and Bryant Roberts.

Vernie Maxine Windes, 86, of Mount Carmel, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at Heritage Healthcare in Robinson, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on April 23, 1930, in Hoopeston, Illinois, the daughter of James D. and Rosa M. (Lovellette) Garrett.
She married Robert Lewis Windes, Sr. on June 5, 1948, and he preceded her in death.
