Rams putting playoff experience to use during bye week
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — There is a difference of opinion among the Los Angeles Rams about the importance of playoff experience.
AP panel rates LA Rams’ offensive line as best in NFL
Todd Gurley is touted as an MVP contender. Jared Goff ranks among the top QBs in yardage and TD throws. Sean McVay already owns one NFL Coach of the Year award.
Here are some lesser-known names that are also a big part of why the Los Angeles Rams are 8-0 this season: Andrew Whitworth, Rodger Saffold, John Sullivan, Austin Blythe and Rob Havenstein.
Center John Sullivan returns to LA Rams with 2-year deal
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Center John Sullivan has re-signed with the Los Angeles Rams, agreeing to a two-year contract.
The Rams announced the deal Friday.
Sullivan started 15 consecutive games in his first season with Los Angeles. He sat out the NFC West champions' meaningless regular-season finale to rest along with four fellow linemen.
The 32-year-old Notre Dame product spent his first eight NFL seasons in Minnesota. He played one year in Washington before signing with Los Angeles last year.
Titans RB Murray hurts right knee in loss to Rams
NEW YORK (AP) — Tennessee could be without starting running back DeMarco Murray next week when it tried to clinch a playoff spot.
Murray injured his right knee with 2:23 left in the game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Coach Mike Mularkey said his running back will have an MRI, but it doesn't look good.
The Rams lost left guard Rodger Saffold to a rib injury late in the game. Los Angeles safety Marqui Christian also hurt a shoulder.
Rams’ surprising success driven by commitment to team
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams think they can pair their fast start with a strong finish.
All they have to do is keep doing what they have been doing all season.
Los Angeles had six plays of at least 35 yards in Sunday's 51-17 win at the New York Giants. The defense had three takeaways and special teams chipped in with a blocked punt.
Rams on alert for Cowboys’ fearsome pass rusher Lawrence
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay knows it will take a comprehensive effort to limit Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence.
Realistically, though, that challenge will come down to how right tackle Rob Havenstein performs against the pass rusher in critical moments.
"When it comes down to third-and-long I have all the trust in the world in Rob to be able to do what he can do against DeMarcus," left guard Rodger Saffold said.
Rams QB Keenum hoping better performance leads to more wins
BAGSHOT, England (AP) — As Los Angeles Rams quarterback Case Keenum was stringing together completions on Sunday, including all 18 of his attempts in the third quarter against the Detroit Lions, his teammates were unaware history had been made.
"Nobody knew how well he was doing until after the game and we found out that he completed 19 straight," left guard Rodger Saffold said. "He didn't even know it, and he's the one throwing them."
Rams begin practice in London aware of challenges ahead
BAGSHOT, England (AP) — Rams coach Jeff Fisher has often stressed the importance of a quick emotional turnaround.
Dwell on the result of a game for a day, then move on.
And while the Los Angeles Rams had to endure a seven-hour flight after a 31-28 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, coping with the outcome didn't last much longer.
"That 24-hour rule is serious," left tackle Rodger Saffold said. "For us, we moved eight hours ahead, so our 24-hour rule was a lot shorter."
