Siena grinds past St. Peter’s 59-57 in triple overtime
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Roman Penn scored 18 points, Ahsante Shivers had 14 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and Siena beat Saint Peter's 59-57 in triple overtime on Monday night.
Thomas Huerter Jr., who was 2 of 7 from the line, made 1 of 2 free throws on Siena's final possession of the game. Cameron Jones grabbed the rebound for Saint Peter's with 3.2 seconds to go and Nick Griffin missed a jumper at the buzzer.
Siena holds off Marist for 68-65 win
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Jordan Horn had 15 points and Siena held off Marist for a 68-65 victory on Thursday night.
Roman Penn and Khalil Richard added 12 points apiece, and Prince Oduro chipped in 11 for Siena (6-14, 2-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Horn, Penn, Richard, and Oduro each made five field goals for 20 of the Saints' 27 baskets.
David Knudsen scored 17 points and Ryan Funk had 13 to lead Marist (4-14, 2-4).
Bundu’s block saves Quinnipiac’s 71-70 win over Siena
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Abdulai Bundu blocked Ahsante Shivers' shot at the rim to preserve Quinnipiac's 71-70 victory over Siena on Monday.
Bundu's save of an air-balled 3-point attempt as he was flying out of bounds resulted in Cameron Young's trey that gave the Bobcats (5-9, 2-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) a 71-68 lead with 1:37 remaining.
Marist holds off Siena 63-58 in MAAC opener
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Ryan Funk had 15 of his 17 points in the second half and hit all four of his 3-point attempts after the break as Marist held off a late rally from Siena to win 63-58 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Friday night.
Siena holds off Holy Cross 71-65
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Nico Clareth scored 29 points and Siena held on for a 71-65 win over Holy Cross to wrap up both teams' nonconference schedules on Friday night.
Roman Penn added 13 points including a pair of 3s for the Saints (4-9), who pulled away with a 10-1 run to lead 62-50 on Clareth's 3-pointer with 8:47 left. The Crusaders (3-8) closed within 66-61 on Matt Faw's 3-point play with 1:41 left, but Siena made 5 of 7 free throws to secure the win.
Albany holds on for 10th win, beats Siena 74-69
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — David Nichols scored 12 points and made two free throws in the final seconds to seal Albany's 74-69 win over Siena in the Albany Cup on Saturday night.
Siena's Ahsante Shivers banged in two straight 3-pointers to send the Saints ahead 65-63 with 4:14 left. It was Siena's first lead since the early minutes of the game.
Siena beats Hofstra 85-76 for first win of season
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Prince Oduro and Nico Clareth scored 17 points apiece, Roman Penn added 14 with 11 assists in his debut, and Siena beat Hofstra 85-76 on Saturday for its first win of the season.
Penn became the first Saints player to record 10 or more assists in a game since Marquis Wright had 10 at St. Bonaventure on Dec. 22, 2015.
