SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Nijal Pearson scored 19 points, including a 3-pointer to cap a 9-0 run in the last five minutes as Texas State broke away from Appalachian State 74-71 Thursday night to regain a piece of the Sun Belt Conference lead and sweep the season series with the Mountaineers.
The win puts the Bobcats (18-5) in a three-way tie with Georgia State and Texas Arlington, all at 7-3.

The Mountaineers snapped a seven-game losing streak and had dropped their first six conference games, including an 82-81 loss in overtime at Arkansas State on Thursday night.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Javon Bess scored 20 points, Hasahn French had 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Saint Louis dominated the second half to defeat Appalachian State 83-55 on Sunday.
Tramaine Isabell Jr. added 13 points, six assists and five rebounds for the Billikens (8-5). Bess was 8 of 13 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds.

WASHINGTON (AP) — James Akinjo made three 3-pointers and scored 17 points, Josh LeBlanc posted a double-double and Georgetown pulled away late from Appalachian State for an 83-73 victory on Tuesday night.
The Hoyas (8-3) led 72-69 with 1:41 remaining when LeBlanc dunked off a pass from Akinjo, Greg Malinowski put in two free throws and Jessie Govan finished the 7-0 run with a 3-pointer for a 10-point lead — their largest of the game — with under a minute left.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Justin Forrest and Ronshad Shabazz each scored 18 points and Tyrell Johnson made a critical shot block and Appalachian State turned back Little Rock 69-67 Saturday night.
Nursing a 65-62 lead with 18 seconds left in the game, Johnson blocked Little Rock's K.J. Gilmore on a drive to the basket, and Craig Hinton grabbed the rebound and was fouled. Hinton sank both for Appalachian State (13-17, 8-9 Sun Belt), making it a two possession game.
Arkansas St. upsets Appalachian St., 82-79; tighten Sun Belt
JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Rashad Lindsey hit a jumper with 1:33 left in the game to give Arkansas State the lead and the Red Wolves made it stand up for an 82-79 upset of Appalachian State in a Sun Belt Conference battle Thursday night.
Appalachian State entered the game tied with Troy for seventh place. But after both teams lost and Coastal Carolina posted a 65-60 win over Little Rock, it's now a three-way tie.

Neither team led by more than nine during a contest that saw five ties and five lead changes. Griffin Kinney knotted the score for Appalachian State three times down the stretch. Each time Sikes put the Jaguars back in the lead.
Brown’s late jumpers give Georgia Southern 4th straight win
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Tookie Brown hit two straight jumpers in the final minutes as Georgia Southern rallied to beat Appalachian State 60-59 on Saturday for its fourth straight Sun Belt Conference win.
Trailing 57-56, Brown hit a jump shot for a 58-57 lead. He made the game-winning shot with 56 seconds left. Isaac Johnson answered with a layup with 39 seconds remaining. The game ended on Ronshad Shabazz's missed 3-point attempt that would have won the game for the Mountaineers.
Georgia State gets past Appalachian State 71-58

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Malcolm Duvivier hit 6 of 9 from 3-point range and scored 24 and Daniel Utomi added a double-double to propel Akron to a 94-89 victory over Appalachian State on Saturday night in a game that tipped off three hours late because of weather conditions.

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Thomas Wilder scored 31 points, 24 in the second half when Western Michigan took control to defeat Appalachian State 86-67 on Friday night in the consolation bracket of the relocated Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
The tournament was relocated due to the effects of hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico.
Shabazz efficiently leads Appalachian State to 95-57 win
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Ronshad Shabazz scored 25 points in 28 minutes and Appalachian State beat Bridgewater 95-57 on Sunday.
The Mountaineers led from the opening seconds after Griffin Kinney's 3-point play. Shabazz made two 3-pointers and scored eight points in a 16-3 run that put the Mountaineers in front 39-16 before the Division III Eagles closed to 41-21 at halftime. That was as close as Bridgewater would get with Appalachian State's lead climbing to 42 points.
App State cruises past Toccoa Falls in 135-34 mismatch
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Ronshad Shabazz scored 24 points and Justin Forrest and Trey Ford each scored 15 points and Appalachian State set a school record for points in a game with a 135-34 win against NCCAA, Division-II level Toccoa Falls on Saturday.
Saturday's point total topped the previous record of 120 points, established in a win against Wofford on Dec. 7, 1977.
