Rodgers returns from injury, Packers beat Bears 24-23
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Slowed by a sore knee, Aaron Rodgers picked up the pace behind center.
Remarkably, the two-time NFL MVP was more effective against the Chicago Bears after returning from what initially looked like a serious injury.
The hobbling quarterback threw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter after returning from injury, and the Green Bay Packers overcame a 20-point deficit for a thrilling 24-23 win over the Bears on Sunday night.
Packers’ Aaron Rodgers returns after knee injury
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Aaron Rodgers has returned for the Green Bay Packers in the third quarter after being taken off the field on a cart because of a knee injury.
The Packers announced at halftime that the star quarterback was questionable to return. Minutes later, he walked back on to the field and threw warm-up passes with backup DeShone Kizer before the start of the second half.
He returned for the Packers' first drive of the third quarter, with 9:10 left. The Packers were trailing 20-0.
Bears place backup QB Shaw, C Grasu on injured reserve
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have placed quarterback Connor Shaw and center Hroniss Grasu on season-ending injured reserve.
Shaw, who was vying for a roster spot, suffered a gruesome left leg injury near the end of Saturday's preseason loss to Kansas City. The Chiefs' Rakeem Nunez-Roches stepped on his leg following a pass to Josh Bellamy.
