TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Matisse Thybulle set the tone early by blocking Brandon Randolph's jumper in the paint.
Washington's long-armed senior guard swatted away Ryan Luther's shot two minutes later and kept knocking balls away, swatting and stealing the Huskies to the cusp of a Pac-12 title.
Thybulle had 15 points, five blocked shots and five steals, helping Washington remain undefeated in Pac-12 play with a 67-60 win over Arizona on Thursday night.
Randolph nets 17 in Arizona’s 75-70 win over Stanford
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Arizona coach Sean Miller called it the "hidden story of the game," on the Wildcats turning the ball over twice in the second half.
"To play the final 20 minutes with only two turnovers gave us the best chance to win," Miller said. "A lot of times, the loss or the win happens because of an error."
Brandon Randolph scored 17 points, one of five players to reach double figures, and Arizona survived a scare from Stanford, beating the Cardinal 75-70 on Wednesday night.
Luther, Jeter lead Arizona past Cal Poly
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Without a big name or a top-25 national ranking for the moment, the Arizona Wildcats are searching for an identity.
They've got a couple of upperclassmen who transferred from elsewhere that could help.
Ryan Luther scored 17 points and Chase Jeter added 16, helping the Wildcats to an 82-61 win over Cal Poly on Sunday.
"Ryan Luther's one of our team's best shooters," Arizona head coach Sean Miller said. "Sometimes he's almost unselfish to a fault."
Last season: 8-24, winless in Atlantic Coast Conference play (0-18).

Pitt F Ryan Luther out for season with foot injury
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh senior forward Ryan Luther's season is over. The Panthers announced Thursday that the stress reaction Luther is dealing with in his right foot is not responding well to treatment and will prevent him from returning this season.
Luther said he will apply for a medical hardship in hopes of extending his collegiate career. He missed 12 games a year ago with a stress fracture in the same foot.
Wilson-Frame’s hot second half leads Pitt past McNeese State
PITTSBURGH (AP) — In the first half against McNeese State on Saturday afternoon, Pittsburgh couldn't get going on offense and was without senior lead Ryan Luther, who missed the game with a foot injury.
In the second half, junior Jared Wilson-Frame stepped into the void as both a vocal leader and a volume scorer, scoring 16 of his 19 points after the break to lead Pitt to a 72-51 win.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Ryan Luther and Jonathan Milligan are the only returning seniors on Pittsburgh's rebuilding team.
Saturday, it was the seniors leading the way as Luther and Milligan combined for 34 points in the Panthers' 80-68 victory over Lehigh.
Luther, a 6-foot-9 forward, scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his third double-double in six games.
Pitt outlasts UC Santa Barbara for first won of season
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Ryan Luther had 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and 10 rebounds to help Pittsburgh its first win of the season Wednesday night, a 70-62 victory over UC Santa Barbara.
It didn't come easily, as the Panthers (1-2) led for just six minutes, 58 seconds, and were outplayed by the Gauchos (1-1) for much of the evening.

After bumpy first season, Stallings starts over at Pitt
PITTSBURGH (AP) — On the surface, the situation Kevin Stallings walked into when he took over at Pittsburgh in the spring of 2016 looked promising. The Panthers had two of the ACC's best players in Michael Young and Jamel Artis at a place that rarely had to worry about being left out of the NCAA Tournament.
Yet Stallings took a peek down the road and quickly recognized for the program to take a step forward, it might first have to endure some difficult steps backward.
Pitt guard Cameron Johnson to transfer
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh redshirt sophomore guard Cameron Johnson is transferring.
This is the team's latest departure following a bumpy first season under coach Kevin Stallings. Johnson will have two years of eligibility remaining and can play immediately because he is graduating this spring.
Johnson averaged 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists. The Panthers 16-17 and 4-14 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and failed to reach the postseason for the first time since 2000.
Young’s 24 leads Pitt by Omaha 94-75
PITTSBURGH (AP) — His team struggling to take care of the ball during a sloppy first half Wednesday night against Omaha, Pittsburgh coach Kevin Stallings opted not to call timeout. Instead he turned around, pointed to a couple of reserves and sent them on the floor instead.
"I used my bench to send a message," Stallings said. "And all of a sudden the energy got better."
Artis nets 31 points as Pittsburgh beats Rice, 83-73
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Jamel Artis scored a season-high 31 points as Pittsburgh survived 18 turnovers to hold off Rice, 83-73, Saturday night.
Artis hit 10 of 14 from the floor and also contributed 7 of 9 from the free-throw line for his best performance since scoring 32 against Bryant in 2015. Bench forward Ryan Luther also had a big game for Pitt (9-2), scoring 20 points to set a career high and leading the team with seven rebounds.
Young scores 29, Pitt holds on to beat Penn St 81-73
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Sheldon Jeter can't quite put his finger on why Pitt is giving up second half leads. Fortunately, he and the Panthers can continue to look for answers after a victory.
