Foligno, Bobrovsky lead Blue Jackets past Rangers 7-5
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Nick Foligno scored twice, Sergei Bobrovsky returned from a team suspension and stopped 22 shots and the Columbus Blue Jackets held off a late surge and defeated the New York Rangers 7-5 Sunday night.
Cam Atkinson and Artemi Panarin each had a goal and an assist, Ryan Murray had two assists and nine other players picked up points in the offensive explosion for Columbus. But, two goals by the Rangers late in the third period turned it into a closer game.
Blue Jackets defenseman Seth Jones will miss 4-6 weeks
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Seth Jones will be sidelined four to six weeks with a knee injury.
The team says the 23-year-old Jones sprained his knee during the second period of Tuesday night's preseason game against Buffalo. An MRI on Wednesday revealed the sprain.
It's a huge blow for the Blue Jackets, with Jones' defensive line mate Zach Werenski recovering from a shoulder injury and defenseman Ryan Murray also hampered by an injury.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed forward Oliver Bjorkstrand and defenseman Ryan Murray.
The 23-year-old Bjorkstrand, the team's fifth-leading scorer last season with 11 goals and 29 assists, signed a three-year pact worth $7.5 million.
The 24-year-old Murray accepted the team's qualifying offer of a one-year contract worth $2.8 million. Both deals were announced over the weekend.

Acquired in an offseason trade with the Chicago Blackhawks and touted as the elite scorer Columbus needs, Panarin had three assists and passed sharply in the Blue Jackets' 5-0 victory over the New York Islanders on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
Blue Jackets’ Ryan Murray out 4-6 weeks with broken hand
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Ryan Murray is out four to six weeks with a broken hand.
Murray broke his right hand when he blocked a shot from the Buffalo Sabres' Tyler Ennis on Saturday. General manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced the extent of the injury Monday.
Murray had surgery Monday at Grand Medical Center. An absence of four to six weeks is typical for hockey players with this injury.
Dubinsky scores twice and Blue Jackets beat Canes 4-1
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Brandon Dubinsky ended a 17-game scoring drought with two goals, Boone Jenner had a goal and an assist and the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 on Tuesday night.
Lukas Sedlak also scored for Columbus, and Ryan Murray and Cam Atkinson had a pair of assists each. All-Star Sergei Bobrovsky returned after missing the past three games because of illness and made 24 saves.
