DENTON, Texas (AP) — Charles Bassey had 18 points and four blocks as W. Kentucky held off North Texas 62-59 on Saturday.
Taveion Hollingsworth had 14 points and seven rebounds for W. Kentucky (15-10, 8-4 Conference USA), which earned its fourth straight victory. Lamonte Bearden added 10 points and six assists. Tolu Smith had eight rebounds for the road team.
North Texas totaled 15 points in the first half, a season low for the team.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Ryan Woolridge stole the ball and flew for a fast-break layup to spark a 6-2 finish and North Texas turned back Charlotte 73-66 Saturday.
Umoja Gibson and Roosevelt Smart led North Texas with 19 points apiece, Gibson draining five 3-pointers and Smart three. Woolridge scored nine points and had a game-high seven assists.
Old Dominion cruises past North Texas 72-61
NORFOLF, Va. (AP) — Justice Kithcart had 13 points as Old Dominion topped North Texas 72-61 on Thursday night.
B.J. Stith had 12 points for Old Dominion (17-6, 7-3 Conference USA), which earned its fourth straight home victory. Kalu Ezikpe added 12 points and Xavier Green had 11.

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Zack Bryant scored 17 points, Makhtar Gueye added nine points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds, and UAB beat North Texas 52-49 Thursday night to snap the Mean Green's 14-game home win streak.

Lockett’s late FT pushes FIU past North Texas 69-68
MIAMI (AP) — Eric Lockett made the first of two free-throw attempts with 6.8 seconds left to give Florida International a 69-68 victory over North Texas on Thursday night.
Ryan Woolridge grabbed the defensive rebound from Lockett's second shot at the line, but then missed a layup to end it.
Trejon Jacob and Michael Douglas scored 14 points apiece to lead FIU (12-16, 6-9 Conference USA). Lockett finished with 13 points.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Nick King matched his career-high with 32 points, tying the school record with his fourth 30-point game this season, and Middle Tennessee held off North Texas 79-73 to win its seventh straight on Saturday.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Roosevelt Smart scored 22 points, Ryan Woolridge added 18 more and North Texas held on to earn a 72-71 win at Texas-San Antonio and pick up its second Conference USA victory to start the season Saturday night.
The Mean Green (9-6) already surpassed their win total from last season and they swept a pair of road games to open the conference season.

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Nick Dixon had 27 points as UT Rio Grande Valley rallied in the second half to beat North Texas 75-63 on Monday night.
North Texas was up 35-30 at the break and pushed that to 44-34 with 16:44 left in the game.

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Paul Thomas scored a career-high 23 points and Dominic Artis scored 10 of his 19 points in overtime as UTEP fended off North Texas 77-71 on Thursday night.
Thomas was fouled after he rebounded an Artis missed 3-pointer with 1:22 left in regulation and made both free throws to send the game to overtime at 65-65 as each team missed shots down the stretch.

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Marcus Evans and Marcus Jackson combined to score 35 points as Rice built an 11-point lead in the first half and cruised to a 95-80 win at North Texas on Saturday.
The Owls won their second straight Conference USA game by limiting North Texas to 39.7 percent shooting from the field and holding a commanding edge on the glass, outrebounding the Mean Green 46-34.
Campbell scores career-high 26 in Southern Miss victory
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Quinton Campbell scored a career-high 26 points and Southern Miss defeated North Texas 75-65 on Thursday night.
Michael Ramey added 11 points for the Golden Eagles (6-12, 3-3 Conference USA), who had one less field goal and three fewer 3-pointers than the Mean Green but were 25 of 35 from the free-throw line to 10 of 24 for North Texas.
Lee’s 3-point play powers UAB past North Texas 54-52
DENTON, Texas (AP) — William Lee scored 19 points and his 3-point play with 5.9 seconds remaining sent UAB past North Texas 54-52 on Thursday night.
Lee drove the lane and muscled in a short shot while drawing a foul on Allante Holston. Ryan Woolridge missed a jumper for North Texas to end the game. Lee also had five blocks and four rebounds.
North Texas led 50-42 with 4:26 to play on J-Mychal Reese's jumper. Denzell Watts responded with a 3-pointer 19 seconds later reducing UAB's deficit to five.
San Diego avoids collapse, beats North Texas 69-68
DENTON, Texas (AP) — Olin Carter III hit the game-winning 3-pointer with seven seconds left, saving San Diego from a 20-point, second-half collapse to beat North Texas 69-68 on Thursday night.
Carter finished with 22 points and Brett Bailey scored 20 for the Toreros (7-5), who opened the second half with 10 straight points to lead 45-25 with 17:35 left in the game.
