Scana: 3Q Earnings Snapshot
CAYCE, S.C. (AP) _ Scana Corp. (SCG) on Thursday reported third-quarter earnings of $67 million.
On a per-share basis, the Cayce, South Carolina-based company said it had profit of 47 cents.
The energy holding company posted revenue of $926 million in the period.
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina's state-owned utility says it wants a say in whether its partner in building two failed nuclear plants can merge with a Virginia utility.
In a filing Thursday, Santee Cooper says it hasn't decided if it will support or oppose Dominion Energy's offer to buy SCANA Corp and formally abandon two nuclear plants where billions were spent on design and construction without any power generated.
South Carolina utility paid investors $529 million
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Documents released by state regulators show SCANA Corp paid $529 million to investors with money collected from South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. customers as its nuclear project failed.
Media outlets reported the failed nuclear project helped SCANA increase its dividend. Records show the company's quarterly payments to investors increased more than 50 percent since the project's 2009 start.
Regulators won’t dismiss move against South Carolina utility
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — State utility regulators have refused to dismiss a request that could lower rates for South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. customers after the company abandoned plans for two nuclear reactors.
The Public Service Commission on Wednesday refused to dismiss two cases against SCANA Corp, parent company of SCE&G, news outlets reported.
