Bears place backup linebacker Acho on IR, sign OL Witzmann
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have placed backup linebacker Sam Acho on injured reserve because of a torn pectoral muscle and signed offensive lineman Bryan Witzmann.
Coach Matt Nagy said last week that Acho will miss the remainder of the season. He was injured against Tampa Bay on Sept. 30.
Witzmann started 13 games for Kansas City last season. He was released by Minnesota on Friday.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Eric Winston has been unanimously re-elected as president of the NFL players union, earning his third straight three-year term.
Winston, who is scheduled to become a free agent, ran unopposed for the position. The NFLPA Board of Player Representatives announced the result Sunday at the NFLPA's annual meetings.
New York Giants linebacker Mark Herzlich was elected as the union's treasurer.

Acho has started 45 of 82 games over six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals (2011-14) and Chicago Bears (2015-16).
Last season with the Bears, Acho had 40 tackles, one sack, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and three tackles for a loss on defense. He also added three tackles on special teams.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have re-signed linebacker Sam Acho to a one-year deal.
Acho played in 16 games last season with Chicago, making six starts. He had a sack and a forced fumble. He also played special teams.
The 28-year-old Acho was selected by Arizona in the fourth round of the 2011 draft. He played for the Cardinals for four seasons before signing with the Bears in 2015.
