The homeowner called authorities Saturday after spotting the animal near the edge of the San Bernardino Mountains.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of a 10-year-old boy who was shot in the head while in the back seat of a car traveling on a Southern California highway.
California Highway Patrol Chief Bill Dance said at a press conference Wednesday that Jose Luis Chavez was in custody on a trespassing charge when he was arrested in connection with the shooting. It wasn't immediately known if the 48-year-old has an attorney.

Terror attack gun supplier wants to withdraw guilty plea
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — The man who bought two rifles that terrorists used to kill 14 people in a 2015 terrorist attack in San Bernardino wants to withdraw his guilty plea.
Through his lawyer, Enrique Marquez told a federal judge Friday that he'll withdraw his 2017 plea to providing material support to terrorists. Attorney John Aquilina says he'll file the motion by May 13.
Aquilina won't detail the reason for the decision, which federal prosecutors are expected to challenge.
Metrolink adds special trains for Rams-Cowboys playoff game
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Southern California's Metrolink railroad is adding special trains for football fans heading to the Los Angeles Rams' divisional playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Metrolink says for the first time it will offer $10 round-trip fares on its Antelope Valley, Orange County and San Bernardino lines to downtown LA's Union Station for Saturday night's game.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — Two people were killed and three firefighters have been injured in separate house fires east of Los Angeles.
The first broke out Saturday afternoon at a home in San Bernardino. Firefighters were able to pull one victim from the house but found a second victim dead.
Three firefighters were injured and taken to the hospital when a carport at the home collapsed on them. Two of them had minor injuries while the third remained hospitalized.
Former deputy sentenced to 35 years for sex with inmates

The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Southern California said Friday that Guadalupe Plascencia will receive $55,000 from the federal government and San Bernardino County.
The 60-year-old hairstylist from San Bernardino has been a U.S. citizen for nearly two decades.

Officer Brian Alvarez says 55-year-old Charlean Larue Welch of San Bernardino was arrested in connection with the Sept. 28 collision on Monday.

California dioceses list 34 priests accused of sex abuse

Police responded to a San Bernardino neighborhood Friday morning and found two women shot and killed.
The San Bernardino Police Department says the body of one woman was found outside a home and the second woman was found dead inside the residence.
