SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Police say a man who witnesses said fatally shot his ex-girlfriend in the head in Central Texas was later found in his vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
San Marcos police said Monday that witnesses told officers 24-year-old Brihana Landrum was shot Sunday morning by 28-year-old Adrian Diaz. Police say they had been involved in an on-again, off-again relationship for several years.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Investigators say a man in San Marcos pulled what was believed to be a gun on police officers Friday, and was shot and killed.
The city of San Marcos said in a Saturday statement that authorities received reports around 9:30 p.m. of a man shooting a handgun who was later seen climbing into a fleeing vehicle.
Two officers conducted a traffic stop and the passenger climbed out.

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Authorities have identified all five individuals who died last month in a massive fire at two apartment complexes in San Marcos.
Officials on Friday announced that 21-year-old Belinda Moats of Big Wells was the last victim to be identified after the July 20 fire.
The four victims previously identified were: 20-year-old Dru Estes of San Antonio; 19-year-old Haley Frizzell of San Angelo; 23-year-old James Miranda of Mount Pleasant; and 21-year-old David Ortiz of Pasadena.

KWTX-TV reports Shana Elliott was also sentenced Friday to 10 years of community service for injuring the pregnant woman in the August 2016 crash. She had pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter.
