There is no question that Case Keenums performance during the 2017 season for the Vikings is going to change his career.
He finished the season as the 45th-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, trailing signal-callers such as Ryan Mallett, Scott Tolzien, Matt Moore and Paxton Lynch.
Keenum also finished the season second in Total QBR, ESPNs quarterback rating system, ahead of stars such as Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees and Russell Wilson.
Colts expect to have Brissett back against Tennessee
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett remains in the concussion protocol, but coach Chuck Pagano expects him to play Sunday against Tennessee.
Brissett was injured after getting hit in the head during a Week 10 loss to Pittsburgh. Brissett was first checked on the sideline and then was allowed to return to the game.
Luck still not cleared to practice, ruled out of Browns game
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Luck will miss his third consecutive game Sunday after being ruled out by Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano on Monday. And there's still no timetable for his return to practice.
While Pagano didn't rule out the possibility of Luck coming back Wednesday, Pagano acknowledged that doctors still have not cleared the franchise quarterback to participate.
Brissett starting for Colts against Cardinals
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Jacoby Brissett will start in place of Scott Tolzien at quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday against Arizona.
The move was officially announced a little more than an hour before kickoff.
He replaces Tolzien, who had two interceptions returned for touchdowns in last week's 46-9 loss. Indy also failed to convert a third down in the loss.
Andrew Luck still has not practiced since having surgery on his throwing shoulder in January.
Dismal opener has Colts contemplating Week 2 changes
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano is already considering making changes.
Exactly what, if anything, will look different Sunday against Arizona remains a mystery.
But Pagano's coy play is all part of a broader strategy, designed to keep the Cardinals guessing as the reeling Colts try to gain a competitive advantage.
"A little bit of everything," Pagano said succinctly Wednesday when asked about possible specific moves.
Of course, not every debate is being shrouded in secrecy.
Colts’ QB situation uncertain after mistake-filled opener
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts are Andrew Luck's team.
With an uncertain timeline for when their star quarterback might return from shoulder surgery, however, there were signs in a dismal 46-9 season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Rams that job could soon pass to newly acquired Jacoby Brissett on an interim basis.
Brissett replaced Scott Tolzien in the fourth quarter, and the former New England third-stringer was on the field for three series.

Tolzien ready to take over as Colts starting quarterback
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Scott Tolzien had a whole offseason to get acclimated to his job description and his new duties as the Indianapolis Colts' starting quarterback.
It still sounds a little strange.
On Sunday in Los Angeles against the Rams, Tolzien will replace Andrew Luck in Indy's lineup, becoming only the fourth Colts' quarterback since 1998 to start on opening day.
Luck-less Colts’ quarterback situation still unclear
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Few questions were answered heading into the preseason as the Colts and Bengals played a difficult to watch 7-6 game won by Indianapolis on Thursday night.
With Luck still out, Colts refuse to play guessing games
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Chuck Pagano refuses to play guessing games.
He won't say whether Scott Tolzien or Stephen Morris will start Indianapolis' preseason finale, and he's sure not putting odds on Andrew Luck's chances of playing in the Colts' regular-season opener.
"We're going to prepare," the coach said when asked how the Colts are getting ready for the Sept. 10 opener against the Los Angeles Rams. "I'm not a bookie, I'm not an oddsmaker, so I'm not allowed to put numbers on that."
Tolzien effective as Colts edge Steelers 19-15
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Scott Tolzien has spent most of training camp watching Stephen Morris inch closer and closer in the race to be the Week 1 Colts starting quarterback if Andrew Luck's surgically repaired right shoulder doesn't heal in time.
Tolzien may have provided just enough breathing room to get the nod in a 19-15 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night.
Tolzien effective as Colts edge Steelers 19-15
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Scott Tolzien led a pair of long scoring drives to inch closer to the Colts' starting job for the season opener if Andrew Luck's shoulder isn't ready, and the Indianapolis defense kept Pittsburgh's high-powered offense in check in a 19-15 victory Saturday night.
Tolzien completed 7 of 10 passes for 123 yards, including a 55-yard hookup with Donte Moncrief that set up a 1-yard Frank Gore touchdown run. Tolzien also threw an interception in three series of work.
Colts look to go on offensive after dismal preseason start
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Chuck Pagano expects more out of the Indianapolis Colts' dreadful offense.
So Indy's coach is changing it up.
Quarterback Stephen Morris is expected to reclaim the No. 2 job behind Scott Tolzien on Saturday at Pittsburgh. Rookie running back Marlon Mack should get more chances on third down and in two-minute drills. And Pagano may tinker again with the banged up offensive line.
Unlucky Colts close training camp with quarterback quandary
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts finished training camp Thursday with the same quarterback quandary they've had all year.
Andrew Luck is still recovering from shoulder surgery. Scott Tolzien, Phillip Walker and Stephen Morris are still taking all the snaps. And nobody is saying when Luck might be activated from the physically-unable-to-perform list.
If the Colts must continue to rely on mostly unproven quarterbacks, the coaches may have to shrink the playbook.
Tolzien gives Colts solid showing in 28-7 loss to Steelers
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Scott Tolzien did just about everything the Indianapolis Colts could have asked Thursday night.
He moved the offense, mostly took care of the ball and kept the Colts close.
But replacing Andrew Luck isn't easy and replicating Luck's winning formula is even tougher as Tolzien found out in a 28-7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Luck, Geathers both inactive for Colts against Steelers
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts deactivated quarterback Andrew Luck and safety Clayton Geathers for Thursday night's game against Pittsburgh.
Both went into the concussion protocol after Sunday's victory over Tennessee and had not yet been cleared to play. Luck is expected to be replaced by backup Scott Tolzien, whose most recent NFL start came in 2013.
Steelers face Colts without Andrew Luck
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin guessed wrong.
He expected Andrew Luck to overcome a head injury and suit up for Thursday night's primetime game.
Instead, the Indianapolis Colts ruled out their star quarterback Wednesday after he missed practice for the third straight day.
The likely replacement will be the rarely used Scott Tolzien, whom Tomlin doesn't have much tape on because Tolzien hasn't played since the preseason.
Colts rule out Luck for Steelers game because of concussion
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts announced Wednesday that Andrew Luck has been ruled out of Thursday night's game against Pittsburgh.
Luck has been in the league's mandated concussion protocol since Sunday night when he complained of concussion-like symptoms following a 24-17 victory over Tennessee.
3 quality matchups for Thanksgiving Day
The NFL is bragging about how for the first time since 1935, Thanksgiving Day features three games with all six teams at .500 or better.
Considering how mediocre so many teams are this season, Pro Picks isn't sure how to take that stat.
Regardless, there are two very significant divisional matchups on Thursday at the traditional holiday sites, Dallas and Detroit. And an important inter-division contest in Indianapolis.
Colts preparing to go with backup plan against Steelers
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Scott Tolzien and Stephen Morris stood together in the corner of the end zone at Tuesday's practice.
Suddenly, the two healthy Indianapolis Colts quarterbacks were the center of attention as they went through the routine of taking snaps and fine-tuning their footwork. It may be the same way Thursday night.
Colts QB Andrew Luck in concussion protocol
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts' second straight win may have cost them quarterback Andrew Luck.
Luck entered the concussion protocol after complaining about concussion-like symptoms following Sunday's 24-17 victory over Tennessee. Coach Chuck Pagano said Monday he believes the injury concussion occurred in the fourth quarter, but couldn't cite which play Luck was injured on.

Colts’ backup quarterbacks prepare for final audition
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Scott Tolzien and Stephen Morris see every play as an opportunity.
So when they trot out Thursday night at Cincinnati, the Indianapolis Colts' backup quarterbacks know this game matters.
"You're always trying to be sharp," Tolzien said. "The way I look at it, it's another opportunity to go play in a football game."
On this team, those chances usually have been rare.

LAST YEAR: Andrew Luck never looked right and neither did Colts. Luck missed nine games because of injuries, forcing coach Chuck Pagano to survive worst season of four-year tenure with five quarterbacks. Instead of contending for Super Bowl trip, as widely expected, Indy missed playoffs for only second time since 2002.
