CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Edgar Castillo and Niki Jackson scored eight minutes apart in the second half, and the Colorado Rapids tied the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-2 on Tuesday night.
Castillo tied it at 1 for Colorado (6-12-6) in the 74th minute after sending a loose ball in from distance. Jackson knotted it at 2 in the 82th with a deflected shot over the head of David Bingham.

LA Galaxy sign experienced MLS midfielder Chris Pontius
CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Veteran MLS midfielder Chris Pontius has signed with the LA Galaxy.
The club announced its acquisition Monday on the opening day of preseason training.
Pontius is a nine-year MLS veteran with D.C. United and Philadelphia, posting 45 goals and 29 assists. He also made five appearances for the U.S. national team in 2017.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — An already banged-up U.S. soccer team lost four more players heading into Tuesday's World Cup qualifier at Panama, including two starters from Friday night's 6-0 victory against Honduras.
Midfielder Sebastian Lletget, defenders John Brooks and Michael Orozco, and forward Jordan Morris were dropped by U.S. coach Bruce Arena, who added midfielder Paul Arriola on Saturday.
The U.S. already was without defender DeAndre Yedlin, midfielder Fabian Johnson and forward Bobby Wood.

CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Giovani dos Santos scored his first career playoff goal in the 55th minute and the Los Angeles Galaxy beat the Colorado Rapids 1-0 on Sunday in Game 1 of the two-leg Western Conference semifinal series.
Los Angeles (13-6-16) had its 10th shutout of the season. Colorado (15-7-13) will host the second leg of the semifinal next Sunday.
