Mercurius lifts Florida Gulf Coast past NJIT 57-55
FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Dinero Mercurius scored the last four points of the game with just under three minutes to push Florida Gulf Coast past NJIT 57-55 on Wednesday night.
Diego Willis made a corner 3-pointer to give NJIT a 55-53 lead. Mercurius answered with a 3-point play with 2:31 remaining, and then split a pair of free throws with 17 seconds to go. Following an NJIT timeout, Shyquan Gibbs missed a potential game-winning 3 with six seconds left.

NJIT (8-2) rebounded from a double-digit loss at UMass Lowell Saturday in which Cooks put up 25 points. The loss snapped a three-game win streak.
Cooks was 8-of-12 shooting, made four 3-pointers and 7 of 12 free-throw attempts. Abdul Lewis added 14 points and nine rebounds and Shyquan Gibbs scored 10 points for the Highlanders.

McGill hit the go-ahead bucket with 41 seconds left and Schadrac Casimir sealed the win with 4-of-4 shooting from the line sandwiched around an NJIT layup by Shyquan Gibbs.
