SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) — A Spearfish woman faces felony child abuse and drug charges after authorities say her grandchild ingested methamphetamine while she was baby-sitting the child.
Forty-three-year-old Michelle Humann was arrested Jan. 7 after her 2-year-old grandchild began exhibiting unusual behavior. Authorities say the parents took the child to the hospital, where staff determined the child had ingested drugs
Police allege that Humann left meth in an area where the child could get at it.
Rapid City man gets 5 years for robbing Spearfish restaurant
DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) — A Rapid City man who held up a Spearfish restaurant at gunpoint last summer has been sentenced to serve five years in prison.
Authorities say 19-year-old Daniel Beck Jr. robbed the Pizza Ranch restaurant of more than $400 on July 30, 2018. He pleaded guilty last November to robbery and prosecutors dropped a grand theft charge related to a stolen vehicle recovered during the investigation.

BUFFALO, S.D. (AP) — Authorities have identified a Redig man who died in a one-vehicle crash in Harding County.
The Highway Patrol says 21-year-old Rhett Fox was driving a pickup truck that rolled in the ditch off U.S. Highway 85 the night of Nov. 14.
The crash happened about 8 miles south of Buffalo. Fox was alone in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at a Spearfish hospital.

The man was pronounced dead at a Spearfish hospital. His name was not immediately released.

SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) — A 34-year-old man is dead after a pickup truck crash off Interstate 90 in Spearfish.
The Highway Patrol says the pickup left the roadway about 3:20 p.m. Monday, went through a golf course and came to a stop at a fence.
The driver was taken to a Spearfish hospital and later pronounced dead. He wasn't immediately identified.
