But with an $88 million production price tag, the Shane Black-directed installment in the 30-year-old franchise will be looking to international receipts to offset the cost. This weekend, it earned $30.7 million from 72 foreign markets, bringing the global total to $54.7 million.

Speaking to some 6,500 audience members in the convention's biggest programming room, Hall H, director and co-writer Shane Black describes his film as the "dirty half-dozen" and "leaner and meaner" than the original from 1987.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A jubilant Ava DuVernay was named entertainer of the year at an NAACP Image Awards ceremony that focused on the black community's power to create change.
DuVernay lauded other black artists from the stage as she accepted her award Monday night, naming writers and directors such as Shonda Rhimes, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Kenya Barris and "Black Panther" Ryan Coogler.
A San Antonio native portrays the girlfriend of the teenage Randall Pearson in a highly emotional character arc on “This Is Us” that begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday on NBC.
