GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Martins Igbanu had 16 points to lead six Tulsa players in double figures as the Golden Hurricane edged past East Carolina 77-73 in overtime on Sunday. Jeriah Horne added 12 points for the Golden Hurricane. Elijah Joiner chipped in 11, DaQuan Jeffries scored 11 and Sterling Taplin had 11.
Taplin, Jeffries lift Tulsa past Temple 76-58
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Sterling Taplin had 14 points to lead five Tulsa players in double figures as the Golden Hurricane defeated Temple 76-58 on Saturday. DaQuan Jeffries added 13 points for the Golden Hurricane. Martins Igbanu chipped in 12, Darien Jackson scored 10 and Jeriah Horne had 10.
Temple scored 27 points in the second half, a season low for the team.
Taylor’s free throws help UCF preserve victory
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — B.J. Taylor scored 15 points, including UCF's final five, and the Knights edged Tulsa 64-62 on Saturday despite going without a field goal for the final 6½ minutes.
UCF trailed by 15 early and 32-23 at halftime before taking a seven-point lead with 6:36 left after a 19-5 run but didn't make another basket.
Horne scores 27, Tulsa beats UConn after coaches tossed
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Jeriah Horne scored a career-high 27 points and Tulsa held off UConn 89-83 on Wednesday night in a game both head coaches were ejected midway through the second half.
Tulsa coach Frank Haith and UConn coach Dan Hurley were ejected with 11:40 to play and Tulsa leading 61-47. Haith protested a foul call against his forward DaQuan Jeffries and Hurley began yelling at Haith. The two exchanged words and officials assessed both two technical fouls before play resumed.
Scott’s buzzer-beating 3 gives Tulsa 78-75 win over Bulls
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Curran Scott hit a baseline 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded to give Tulsa a 78-75 victory over South Florida on Saturday night, snapping the Bulls' eight-game win streak.
Tulsa led by nine with just over a minute left before the Bulls scored eight straight points over 35 seconds then tying the game with 4.4 remaining on David Collins' 3-pointer. After a timeout, Sterling Taplin raced downcourt and found Scott for the game-winner.
Tulsa rallies late to beat Oral Roberts 69-59
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Martins Igbanu and DaQuan Jeffries scored 16 points apiece and Tulsa rallied late in the second half for its fifth-straight win, beating Oral Roberts 69-59 on Saturday night.
Elijah Joiner and Lawson Korita each added eight points for the Golden Hurricane (10-3). Sterling Taplin led with eight rebounds in addition to his seven points.
Tulsa rallies to beat Little Rock 88-78 behind Igbanu
BIMINI, Bahamas (AP) — Martins Igbanu scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, DaQuan Jeffries had 15 points and Tulsa rallied to beat Little Rock 88-78 on Monday night at the Bimini Jam.
Sterling Taplin added 10 points with eight assists and Jeriah Horne scored 10 for the Golden Hurricane (4-0), which made 27 of 39 free throws.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Tulsa is streaking toward the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
Sterling Taplin scored a career-high 30 points and the Golden Hurricane won their fourth straight game Thursday night, edging UConn 73-71 on the road.
Junior Etou had 15 points and DaQuan Jefferies added 14 off the bench for Tulsa (15-10, 8-5), which swept the season series from the Huskies. They also won by two points in Oklahoma last month, but needed double overtime in that one.
Taplin’s jumper lifts Tulsa over Tulane 91-89 in OT
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Junior Etou scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Sterling Taplin added 17 points, including the winning jumper with eight seconds left on overtime, and Tulsa rallied to beat Tulane 91-89 on Wednesday night to win its third straight.
Shamet, Frankamp lead No. 5 Wichita St over Tulsa 72-69
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — In a game reminiscent of many big matchups between former Missouri Valley Conference rivals now reunited, No. 5 Wichita State edged Tulsa 72-69 Saturday before a sellout crowd that was evenly divided between the schools.
Landry Shamet and backcourt mate Conner Frankamp each scored 16 points to help the Shockers hold on.
Wichita State (15-2, 5-0) remained unbeaten in its first season in the American Athletic Conference.
Henderson scores 30, Tulsa tops UConn 90-88, 2OT
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Corey Henderson scored a career-high 30 points, including two 3-pointers in the last 37 seconds of regulation, as Tulsa eked out a 90-88 double overtime victory over UConn to remain unbeaten in the American Conference.
Igbanu scores 15, Tulsa controls boards, beats Tulane 65-56
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Martins Igbanu and Sterling Taplin each scored 15 points as Tulsa pounded the boards and defeated Tulane 65-56 on Sunday.
The win is the first American Athletic Conference road victory for Tulsa (9-5, 2-0) since Feb. 21, 2016, and ended a streak of 10 road losses in conference play.
Illinois State beats Tulsa 65-58
NORMAL, Ill. (AP) — Milik Yarbrough had 22 points, six rebounds and four assists, Phil Fayne added 17 points and eight boards, and Illinois State beat Tulsa 65-58 on Saturday night.
Lawson Korita gave Tulsa its first lead, 49-47, since it was 4-2.
Yarbrough made two free throws with 1:43 left to extend Illinois State's lead to 60-51. After Sterling Taplin hit a 3-pointer to cut it to six, Phil Fayne dunked and Illinois State held on.
Tulsa takes down UTSA 100-96 behind Etou and Taplin
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Junior Etou scored 20 points and Sterling Taplin added 18 and Tulsa held off UT San Antonio from the free throw line with a 100-96 win on Tuesday night.
Tulsa (4-3) shot 11 of 14 from the free throw line in the final two minutes while the Roadrunners could only knock down a pair of 3-pointers, the last one coming from George Willborn III with three seconds left.
Henderson’s career-highs lead Tulsa by Cent Arkansas 92-72
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Corey Henderson Jr. had career-highs with four 3-pointers and 24 points, DaQuan Jeffries added three 3s and 20 points, and Tulsa beat Central Arkansas 92-72 on Saturday.
Junior Etou, who leads the team at 17.6 points per game, had his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds for Tulsa (3-3) while Sterling Taplin added 11 points. The Golden Hurricane shot better than 50 percent (54.4) for the fourth time this season.
Tulsa beats Western Michigan 81-74 in Puerto Rico Tip-Off
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Curran Scott scored 17 points and Tulsa led wire-to-wire in beating Western Michigan 81-74 on Thursday night in an opening-round game in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
Tulsa (2-1) will take on Iowa State in the semifinals Friday while Western Michigan (1-2) faces Appalachian State on the campus of Coastal Carolina where the tournament was moved because of hurricane damage in Puerto Rico.
Etou scores 30 for Tulsa in 90-71 win over Oral Roberts
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Junior Etou scored 30 points, one shy of his career best, to help Tulsa roll past Oral Roberts 90-71 on Monday night.
Etou was 11 of 13 from the field and matched a team-high with seven rebounds. Sterling Taplin added 17 points and DaQuan Jeffries had 10 points and seven rebounds for Tulsa (1-1).
Emmanuel Nzekwesi had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Oral Roberts (1-1). Austin Ruder chipped in 13 points.
Lamar beats Tulsa 74-67 on the road in season opener
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Nick Garth had 23 points and eight rebounds, Colton Weisbrod added 15 points and 13 boards for his 11th career double-double, and Lamar beat Tulsa 74-67 on Friday night in an opener for both teams.
DaQuan Jeffries' dunk capped a 12-0 Tulsa run to cut it to 62-61 with 5:23 to play. But Weisbrod answered with two free throws and Garth made four straight in the final 20 seconds to seal it.
Birt leads Tulsa past Tulane in AAC quarterfinal, 66-60
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Pat Birt scored 15 points and Tulsa led almost wire-to-wire to earn a 66-60 American Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal victory over Tulane at the XL Center Thursday.
The No. 10 seed Green Wave led for 13 seconds after Cameron Reynolds hit two free throws to give Tulane a 48-47 lead with 8:40 to play, but Sterling Taplin answered with a 3-pointer with 8:27 left to put No. 7 seed Tulsa back in front for good.

Tulsa’s Etou with career-best double-double, beats Memphis
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Junior Etou had career-highs of 23 points and 13 rebounds, and Tulsa closed on a 16-5 run to beat Memphis 81-71 on Wednesday night.
Memphis had its last lead, 66-65, with 4:40 to play before Etou's layup sparked the Golden Hurricane's final run. Etou scored five points, Jaleel Wheeler added four points, and TK Edogi made a dunk during the stretch.
Sterling Taplin added 17 points and six assists for Tulsa (8-7, 2-1 American Athletic Conference), which outrebounded Memphis 41-29.
Tulsa pulls away in 2nd half, beats Texas State 74-59
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Sterling Taplin had 13 points and Tulsa raced away in the second half for a 74-59 win over Texas State on Saturday night.
Jaleel Wheeler added 10 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Golden Hurricane (5-4), who had a 12-2 run to lead 51-41 on Pat Birt's 3-pointer with 12:16 left.
Taplin layup propels Tulsa past Illinois State 70-68
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Junior Etou and Sterling Taplin each scored 15 points, and Taplin's layup with 11 seconds to play lifted Tulsa past Illinois State 70-68 on Wednesday night.
Down 65-57, Tulsa (4-3) went on a 13-3 run in the last 5:15 to close out the game. MiKyle McIntosh's layup with 15:35 left put Illinois State (4-3) out in front 50-36, finishing a 14-4 run to start the second half after leading 36-32 at the break.
Etou, Tulsa hold off Oregon State 75-64
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Junior Etou scored 17 points and made two clutch baskets down the stretch that helped Tulsa repel a strong Oregon State rally for a 75-64 win on Tuesday night.
Junior college transfer Jaleel Wheeler added 16 points and Sterling Taplin and Pat Birt nine each in matchup of two of last year's NCAA Tournament participants which were hit hard by graduation. Tulsa (2-2) shot 45 percent and outrebounded OSU 38-23, led by Eton's seven boards.
