NORWOOD, Ohio (AP) — Ohio native and singer-songwriter John Legend has headlined an early voting rally with Democrats in suburban Cincinnati.
Legend co-hosted the rally with congressional candidate Aftab Pureval (AF' tab-PYUR' vawl) and other Democrats in Norwood on Sunday.
Legend told the crowd the Republican Party "is afraid of democracy." Pureval and a marching band later led the crowd to the nearby Hamilton County Board of Elections, where hundreds lined up to vote.

CINCINNATI (AP) — President Donald Trump is returning to Ohio to try to boost GOP candidates in a Republican-dominated area.
Trump will headline a Friday evening rally at the Warren County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, northeast of Cincinnati. The county is a GOP stronghold, and Trump won two out of every three votes there in 2016 as he decisively carried Ohio.
Election official punished for redacting campaign checks
NORWOOD, Ohio (AP) — A county elections official in Ohio who acknowledges redacting checks from a Democratic congressional candidate's campaign will lose two weeks of vacation as punishment.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Democrat Sally Krisel was penalized for blacking out memo lines on four checks from Aftab Pureval's (AF'-tab PYUR'-vawlz) campaign. Pureval is running against incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Steve Chabot in Ohio's 1st District.
