Jets injured WRs Anderson, Enunwa closer to returning
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets wide receivers Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa are moving closer to returning from their ankle injuries and are listed as questionable to play at Miami on Sunday.

Anderson missed last Sunday's game at Chicago; Enunwa has been sidelined two games.
Jets save season with stifling D, strong running game
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Muhammad Wilkerson challenged the New York Jets' defense to hold the Buffalo Bills to 60 yards rushing. Steve McLendon thought 80 would be more realistic.
The two D-linemen compromised and settled on 70 — and then went out and got the job done.

Revolutionary shoulder pads catching on in NFL
EAST HANOVER, N.J. (AP) — NFL players stare in disbelief as Bob Broderick sticks his hand between a pair of XRD foam pads, then full-force slams down a helmet. He doesn't even wince, then takes his hand and shakes that of each player.
That scene has been repeated dozens of times by Broderick and Ted Monica, whose XTECH company manufactures and distributes the shoulder pad that just might become the rage throughout the league.
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — There has been plenty of chatter about the New York Jets this offseason, and none of it has been particularly positive.
They've got a three-man quarterback competition, a revamped roster that's minus lots of familiar faces, and a growing number of skeptics who believe the Jets will have trouble winning a game, let alone contend for a playoff spot.
Matt Forte (knee, shoulder) doubtful for Jets vs. Patriots
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets running back Matt Forte is doubtful to play against the New England Patriots on Saturday because of knee and shoulder injuries.
Forte has a torn meniscus in his right knee, which he played through last week. He ran for 21 yards on four carries and had a 7-yard reception while spelling Bilal Powell in New York's 34-13 loss to Miami, but he also injured a shoulder during the game.
Running back Matt Forte (knee) active for Jets vs. Dolphins
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets running back Matt Forte is active against the Miami Dolphins despite dealing with a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Forte worked out on the field before the game Saturday night and was deemed OK to play. He was a game-time decision after injuring his knee early in New York's 23-17 overtime win at San Francisco last Sunday.
Forte questionable, Skrine out for Jets vs. Dolphins
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets running back Matt Forte is questionable to play and will be a game-time decision against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night with a knee injury.
Forte tore the meniscus in his right knee early in New York's 23-17 overtime win at San Francisco last Sunday.
Starting cornerback Buster Skrine is out with a concussion. Rookie Juston Burris and Marcus Williams will likely see increased snaps.
Matt Forte (knee) limited, game-time decision for Jets
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets running back Matt Forte practiced on a limited basis and will likely be a game-time decision against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night.
Forte sat out practice Wednesday with an injured right knee, but was able to participate in some of Thursday's session. That's an encouraging sign for the 31-year-old running back who leads the Jets with 792 yards rushing and seven touchdowns.
Giacomini, McLendon among 6 Jets ruled out vs. 49ers
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets right tackle Breno Giacomini and defensive tackle Steve McLendon were among six players ruled out Friday for the game at San Francisco on Sunday.
Linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin, wide receiver Jalin Marshall, cornerback Antonio Allen and running back Khiry Robinson also will not play because of injuries. Defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson is questionable to play with an injured ankle.
Jets’ McLendon, Pryor out vs. Colts; Wilkerson questionable
NEW YORK (AP) — Jets starting defensive tackle Steve McLendon and safety Calvin Pryor will sit out against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night because of injuries.

Wilkerson has been dealing with soreness in the ankle all season, but appeared to be healthy early in the week while fully participating Thursday and Friday.
Jets’ Mangold fully practices, 5 starters sit out
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Nick Mangold might be back anchoring the New York Jets' offensive line for the first time in six weeks.
The veteran center fully practiced Thursday, putting him on track to play Monday night against the Indianapolis Colts. Mangold sprained his right ankle on Oct. 23 against Baltimore and hadn't been a full participant since.
"He's taking reps," coach Todd Bowles said. "We'll see how he feels at the end of the week."
Jets’ Mangold shows improvement, but sits out practice again
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets center Nick Mangold sat out practice again, although his ailing ankle showed some signs of improvement.
Mangold, who has missed three games with a sprained right ankle, participated in warmups and position drills Thursday. He ran a little for the first time since being hurt against Baltimore on Oct. 23. Mangold did not participate in team drills Thursday, and his status for New York's game against New England on Sunday remains uncertain.
Jets insist they’re staying positive despite losses, critics
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Steve McLendon sounded part-motivational speaker, part-preacher as he described the vibe around the struggling New York Jets.
Sure, they're 1-4 and frustrated fans flocked to social media to express their displeasure.
But desperate times aren't exactly striking fear and pessimism into Todd Bowles' bunch.
Nugent’s 47-yard field goal leads Bengals past Jets 23-22
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Andy Dalton got hit hard by the New York Jets, early and often. In the end, the quarterback and the rest of the Cincinnati Bengals were the ones standing.
Mike Nugent kicked a 47-yard field goal with 54 seconds left, lifting the Bengals to a back-and-forth 23-22 season-opening victory Sunday.
Dalton threw for 366 yards and a touchdown, but was sacked a career-high seven times by the Jets, including 2 1/2 by Leonard Williams and two by Steve McLendon.
Wilkerson sitting out Jets’ opener against Jaguars
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Muhammad Wilkerson is sitting out the New York Jets' preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, two days after being activated from the physically unable to perform list.
Wilkerson appeared to be a long shot to play Thursday night after participating only in positional drills at practice Tuesday. Coach Todd Bowles didn't rule him out for the game but said he wanted to see how the player felt Wednesday. Wilkerson broke his right leg in...
