Iowa TE T.J. Hockenson leaving for the NFL draft
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa's recruiting pitch will be bolstered by the fact that four of its players decided to leave early after receiving encouraging draft grades from the NFL.
It might also make next season tougher than ever.
The Hawkeyes announced on Monday that T.J. Hockenson, a redshirt sophomore, will join fellow tight end Noah Fant, defensive end Anthony Nelson and defensive back Amani Hooker as early entrees in the draft.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa signed 20 players to national letters of intent Wednesday, a group headlined by instate linemen Ezra Miller of Holstein and Tyler Endres of Norwalk.
Miller and Endres were two of Iowa's four-star signees, joining linebacker Justin Jacobs of Ohio.

Iowa TE T.J. Hockenson up for national honors
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz caused a stir last week when he intimated that star tight end Noah Fant's lack of snaps in a loss to Northwestern was due in part because T.J. Hockenson had passed Fant on the depth chart.
The Hawkeyes (7-4, 4-4 Big Ten) corrected course last week at Illinois: Fant was predictably fantastic, scoring the game's first touchdown in a 63-0 rout.
Trick plays counter Big Ten’s ‘3 yards, cloud of dust’ image
A run of trick plays this season is challenging the Big Ten's reputation for stodgy football.

Stanley’s 4 TD passes send Iowa past Minnesota 48-31
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Whether it was the touchdown on a fake field goal or the two true freshmen cornerbacks forced by injuries into the starting lineup, Iowa had to work hard to hoist that bronze pig.
Nate Stanley sure put in his share of sweat equity.
Stanley overcame two costly turnovers with four touchdown passes, and the Hawkeyes used four interceptions and five sacks of Minnesota's Zack Annexstad to beat the Gophers 48-31 on Saturday for the fourth straight time.
Iowa hoping to find offensive consistency in 2018
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa's offense was as inconsistent as any in the country last season, capable of hanging 55 points on Ohio State one week and getting shut out by Wisconsin the next.
A more reliable attack could help vault the Hawkeyes back atop the Big Ten West in 2018.
