VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Vancouver Canucks have acquired center Tanner Kero from the Chicago Blackhawks for center Michael Chaput.
The 25-year-old Kero split last season between the Blackhawks and the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs. He had a goal and two assists in eight games with Chicago and eight goals and 12 assists in 36 games with Rockford.
The 6-foot, 185-pound center from Michigan has appeared in 72 career NHL games.
CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks have signed utility forward Tanner Kero to a two-year contract extension.
The deal with the 24-year-old, signed by the Blackhawks as a free agent in April 2015, runs through the 2018-19 season. Terms of the deal announced Thursday weren't disclosed.
CHICAGO (AP) — The Blackhawks' big-name scorers keep coming through when needed, and Chicago keeps on rolling.
Artem Anisimov scored with 5:20 left in the third period to lift the Blackhawks over the St. Louis Blues 4-2 on Sunday night for their fourth straight win and ninth in their last 10.
DENVER (AP) — Five goals by players all 24 and under — just the sort of youthful infusion the Chicago Blackhawks were searching for.
That takes some of the pressure off Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and the rest of the veterans.
Vinnie Hinostroza scored twice in the third period, including the go-ahead goal with 11:49 remaining, and the Blackhawks rallied for a 6-4 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night.
CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks will be without forwards Artem Anisimov and Marian Hossa when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night.
Anisimov and Hossa each have an upper-body injury. The Blackhawks placed Anisimov on injured reserve Thursday and recalled forward Tanner Kero from Rockford of the American Hockey League.
Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said Anisimov and Hossa could return Tuesday against Winnipeg.
