Fitts shot 5 for 7 from deep. He added seven rebounds. Ford also had six rebounds for the Gaels.

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Henry Welsh, pressed into a starting role with Harvard's leading scorer out, scored 15 points and the Crimson earned its first win over Saint Mary's on Saturday, 74-68 to cap a four-game road swing.

Ford made 4 of 6 from 3-point range and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. The junior, who averaged 19.1 points over the final seven games of last season, had 23 in a season-opening win over McNeese State on Wednesday and has scored in double figures in nine consecutive games dating to last season.

Reserve Tanner Krebs sparks Saint Mary’s victory
MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Saint Mary's reserve Tanner Krebs had struggled all season with his 3-point shot, but San Diego coach Lamont Smith wasn't surprised when the redshirt freshman from the Australian island of Tasmania made all four of his attempts Saturday night.
"We knew he could shoot the basketball. Nobody on their roster is a bum," Smith said after Krebs' 12 points helped trigger a 72-60 win by the No. 20 Gaels.
