Hollingsworth scores 24 in Western Kentucky’s victory
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Taveion Hollingsworth scored 24 points and Jared Savage hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer with just over three minutes left as Western Kentucky beat Florida Atlantic 72-66 on Saturday.
Savage's shot began a 10-4 game-ending run as the Hilltoppers (9-9, 2-3 Conference USA) won after losing their three previous games by a total of five points.
Stith, Caver help Old Dominion rally past W. Kentucky 69-66
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — B.J. Stith and Ahmad Caver scored 19 and 18 points, respectively, and three consecutive 3-pointers pushed Old Dominion ahead by seven and the Monarchs held on to defeat Western Kentucky 69-66 Saturday night capping the school's biggest comeback.
Western Kentucky led 21-0 to start the game as ODU missed its first 12 shots and had two of them swatted away. Caver broke the drought more than nine minutes into the game and the Monarchs closed the distance to 39-32 by halftime.
Anderson scores 18, WKU hangs on to beat Saint Mary’s 71-68
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Josh Anderson scored 18 points that included nine during a key stretch and Western Kentucky held on to beat Saint Mary's 71-68 on Saturday.
The Hilltoppers (6-6) broke a two-game skid while Saint Mary's (8-6) has lost two of its last three since snapping a four-game winning streak.
Anderson scored all nine points during a 9-3 spurt that stretched the Hilltoppers' lead to 67-56 with 3:33 remaining.
Troy holds off late rally by Western Kentucky
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Alex Hicks scored 20 points, Jordon Varnado had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Troy held off a late rally to defeat Western Kentucky 87-81 on Sunday.
Troy (5-5) had a 17-point lead with 6:29 remaining, but Western Kentucky drew within 82-79 with just over a minute remaining. After Troy's Darian Adams made two free throws, WKU closed to 84-81 on a layup by Jared Savage with 24 seconds left.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Jared Savage scored 20 points to lead four in double figures and Western Kentucky beat Tennessee State 88-74 on Saturday night.
Savage was just 3 of 11 from the floor but made a 3-pointer and all 13 shots from the free-throw line. Taveion Hollingsworth added 19 points, Desean Murray had 17 and Josh Anderson 15 for the Hilltoppers, who shot 50 percent from the field.
Western Kentucky (4-3) faced Tennessee State (2-5) for the first time since 2011, and is 9-0 in the series.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Taveion Hollingsworth had 22 points, seven rebounds with three steals as Western Kentucky ran away from Tennessee-Martin early to take an 86-71 victory on Saturday night.
Western Kentucky (1-1), which dropped its season opener to No. 25 Washington on Tuesday, started slow against the Skyhawks but took control late in the first half.
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Freshman Taveion Hollingsworth matched his career high with 30 points and Western Kentucky advanced to the final four of the NIT for the first time since 1948 with a 92-84 victory over Oklahoma State on Wednesday night.

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Justin Johnson scored 20 points and had 12 rebounds to lead Western Kentucky to a 72-60 victory over UTEP on Thursday night, the Hilltoppers' fifth straight road victory.
The win left the Hilltoppers (16-6, 8-1) alone in second in Conference USA with Old Dominion (7-2) losing to first-place Middle Tennessee (9-1) earlier Thursday. WKU has won four consecutive conference games for the first time since 2013-2014.
HUNTINGTON — Western Kentucky University guard Taveion Hollingsworth committed a foul, then was hit with a technical foul that put Marshall Thundering Herd guard Jon Elmore at the foul line with 4:39 left Saturday night in a men's basketball game in sold-out E.A. Diddle Arena.
Elmore quieted the capacity-plus crowd of 7,362 (7,326 is capacity) briefly by sinking four consecutive free throws and Marshall had a 74-70 lead.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Darius Thompson scored 20 points, Dwight Coleby had a double-double and Western Kentucky scored the last 15 points of the game to defeat Marshall 85-74 on Saturday night.
Marshall took a 74-70 lead with 4:39 to play after Jon Elmore made four free throws following a foul and technical foul on WKU's Taveion Hollingsworth.
Middle Tennessee edges Western Kentucky 66-62
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Nick King scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Middle Tennessee snapped Western Kentucky's seven-game win streak with 66-62 victory on Saturday night.
Giddy Potts added 16 points for the Blue Raiders (14-6, 6-1 Conference USA) and Karl Gamble chipped in eight points and five rebounds.
The lead changed hands five times in the first half before a final 10-3 surge by King and Karl Gamble lifted Middle Tennessee to a 29-22 lead at the break.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Lamonte Bearden scored 19 points and Western Kentucky remained undefeated in Conference USA with a 73-63 victory over Charlotte on Saturday night.
Charlotte scored the first four points but the Hilltoppers scored the next nine and led the rest of the way, leading 28-20 at halftime with Bearden scoring 11 points.
The 49ers got as close as five, 44-39, after a Jon Davis dunk with 12:19 left but an 8-0 run built WKU's lead back up to 14 with three minutes left.
Thompson has triple-double, WKU rolls past Marshall 112-87
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Darius Thompson collected Western Kentucky's first triple-double in nine years, and the Hilltoppers scored a program record with their 112-87 victory over Marshall on Saturday night.
Thompson had career highs in all three categories: 33 points on 11-of-16 shooting, including six 3-pointers; 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. It was the first triple-double at Western Kentucky since Orlando Mendez-Valdez had one against Troy on Jan. 1, 2009.
Coleby, Thompson spark Western Kentucky to 82-66 win
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Darius Thompson hit the first of his four 3-pointers to spark a 10-0 run early and Western Kentucky cruised from there, defeating Southern Miss 82-66 on Saturday.
The game was 2-2 when Thompson and Taveion Hollingsworth made 3-pointers on consecutive possessions, then Justin Johnson and Dwight Coleby scored on the next two possessions for a 12-2 lead in less than 90 seconds.
Coleby’s late block helps W Kentucky edge Louisiana Tech
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Dwight Coleby scored 16 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had a huge block in the last five seconds as Western Kentucky held on to defeat Louisiana Tech 69-68 on Thursday night in a Conference USA opener.
The Hilltoppers (9-5) led for more than 39 minutes only to see the lead slip away with just 18 seconds remaining when DaQuan Bracey scored on a drive to put the Bulldogs up 68-67.
Hollingsworth leads balanced Hilltoppers past Indiana State

Lamonte Bearden chipped in 15 points for Western Kentucky (6-2), which shot 28 of 54 (52 percent) from the floor. Taveion Hollingsworth added 13 points and Dwight Coleby had 10 for the Hilltoppers.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Lamonte Bearden led seven Western Kentucky players in double figures with 16 points, and the Hilltoppers beat Eastern Kentucky 83-51 on Wednesday night.
It was the largest win over in-state foe EKU since Jan. 14, 1967. The Hilltoppers (5-2), who are off to their best start since 2012, had seven players in double figures for the first time since Nov. 24, 2011.

Six Hilltoppers scored in double figures for the first time since Jan. 21, 2017. Taveion Hollingsworth was one point away from seven players having at least 10 points, which hasn't been done in the program since 2001.
