Ex-QB Vince Young arrested on drunken-driving charge
RICHMOND, Texas (AP) — Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young is free on bond after he was arrested on a drunken driving charge.
In a statement, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says the former Texas Longhorns star was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Monday in the Missouri City area of suburban Houston. The six-year NFL veteran, who lists a Missouri City address as his residence, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and released after posting a $500 cash bond.

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — UConn has hired Lou Spanos, a coach with experience in both college football and the NFL, to fix its historically bad defense.
Coach Randy Edsall announced Wednesday that Spanos has been hired as defensive coordinator, replacing Billy Crocker, who was fired after the Huskies' 1-11 season.
He takes over a defense that gave up the most yards (7,409), yards per game (617.4), points (605) and points per game (50.41) of any major college football team in NCAA history.

Packers confirm hiring of Matt LaFleur as coach
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Matt LaFleur has been named head coach of the Green Bay Packers, the team announced Tuesday night, confirming multiple reports from a day earlier.
The 39-year-old LaFleur spent this season as offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans, his first calling plays in the NFL. Before that, he was offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams in 2017, helping direct a high-powered offense with coach Sean McVay calling plays.

Falcons bring back Koetter, Mularkey as offensive assistants
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons brought back two familiar names on Tuesday by hiring Dirk Koetter as offensive coordinator and Mike Mularkey to coach tight ends.
Koetter and Mularkey are joining coach Dan Quinn's staff following stints as NFL head coaches.
Koetter returns to Atlanta following four seasons as Tampa Bay's coach. Mularkey most recently spent two seasons as the Tennessee Titans' coach, and also has been the head coach at Buffalo and Jacksonville.
Bills’ Kyle Williams added to AFC Pro Bowl roster
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Kyle Williams will get one more chance to represent the Buffalo Bills before the defensive tackle retires.
Williams was added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster on Monday to replace injured Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jurrell Casey.
Williams was a Pro Bowl alternate and said upon announcing his retirement two weeks ago that he would welcome the opportunity to compete if invited.

Titans have safety Kenny Vaccaro available vs. Redskins
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have starting safety Kenny Vaccaro available against the Washington Redskins after he worked his way through the concussion protocol.
That leaves the Titans (8-6) without only a pair of defensive starters. Linebacker Brian Orakpo is missing his second straight game with an injured elbow and cornerback Logan Ryan is on injured reserve with a broken left leg.

Titans RT Jack Conklin, TE Smith placed on injured reserve
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Titans right tackle Jack Conklin and tight end Jonnu Smith have been placed on injured reserve with knee injuries, a double blow for a team on the fringe of the playoff race.
Both starters were hurt in Tennessee's 30-9 win over Jacksonville last week.
To fill the roster spots, the Titans on Tuesday signed free agent offensive lineman Austin Pasztor and added tight end Cole Wick to their active roster from the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad.

Titans sign DB Kalu off practice squad, waive Durden
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have signed defensive back Joshua Kalu off their practice squad after waiving defensive back Kenneth Durden.
The Titans announced the move Saturday.
The 6-foot, 203-pound Kalu was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska, where he was a three-year starter at cornerback and safety. The Titans waived him after training camp, then signed him to their practice squad.
