Indiana conservation officers at first believed the person was a woman, but say new information received Thursday suggested the person was possibly a male.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A shake-up of Indiana's gambling laws being debated could see two new casinos being built and allow legalizing sports betting to start as early as next year.
The proposal cleared a state Senate committee last week and comes as Indiana's 13 casinos have largely seen years of declining revenue amid increased competition from surrounding states and tribal casinos.

Seventy-five-year-old Veronica Hoffman died Jan. 26 after being found in a courtyard outside Bethesda Gardens in Terre Haute.
Preliminary autopsy results found her death consistent with hypothermia.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State University has opened a food pantry to provide food and other necessities for students in need on the western Indiana campus.
The Sycamore Pantry opened Thursday at ISU's Student Recreation Center in Terre Haute. It's stocked with food, drinks, baby food and toiletries for students and their dependents.
The pantry also offers recipes to help students make tasty meals using the selected food items.

Restored Clabber Girl sign back in place after paint job
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — A Clabber Girl baking powder billboard that's been a western Indiana landmark since the 1930s is shining again following a restoration.
Crews installed the 80-year-old billboard's freshly painted yellow and red panels Monday along U.S. 40 on Terre Haute's east side.
The billboard still lacks trim work and its electric clock, but they'll be re-installed soon following their own restoration work.

Indiana State Police say preliminary autopsy results show 24-year-old David Frederick of Vincennes died of multiple gunshot wounds.
4th defendant in malnourished boy’s death get prison
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — A man charged with neglect in the death of a malnourished 9-year-old Indiana boy with cerebral palsy has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Hubert Kraemer pleaded guilty to neglect charges in Vigo Superior Court and was sentenced Friday. The sentence includes four years of probation for the 58-year-old Kraemer.
Indiana State University group to honor Jamal Khashoggi
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — A journalism group at Indiana State University is taking steps to honor alumnus and slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The university's chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists hopes to dedicate a meeting space to Khashoggi, who was also recently named one of Time's Persons of the Year, The Tribune-Star reported. Khashoggi attended the university from 1977 to 1982 and received a degree in business administration.
