Brazilian Cup final incidents may have changed views on VAR
SAO PAULO (AP) — Contentious decisions in the Brazilian Cup final may have changed views on VAR.

Wagner Magalhaes took charge of Wednesday's game and the almost unanimous reaction was that the referee made the wrong decision when the VAR was used for two crucial incidents.

SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazil is still shaking off the embarrassment of losing to Germany 7-1 in its home World Cup.
Since Tite took over as coach in 2016, the five-time world champions have become a winning machine again and were the first to qualify for Russia.
Neymar, who missed the humiliating match against Germany because of injury, has had to recover from a broken foot that kept him out for three months before the trip to Russia.
LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Neymar needed only 23 minutes to reassure Brazilians that his recovery is right on track for the World Cup.
Three months after undergoing surgery on his right foot, Neymar returned to action for Brazil and inspired a 2-0 win over Croatia in an international friendly that showed fans, teammates and coach Tite that he's in good shape for Russia.
LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Neymar is set to play for Brazil on Sunday for the first time since being injured in February.
But the striker will only come on in the second half of the friendly game against Croatia in Liverpool, Brazil coach Tite said at a news conference on Saturday.
Neymar has been sidelined for more than three months due to surgery on his right foot.
LONDON (AP) — After saying last week that he was not 100 percent healthy, Neymar was left out of Brazil's main team Thursday at its World Cup training camp.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker is still being hampered by a foot injury.

TERESOPOLIS, Brazil (AP) — Brazil's second pre-World Cup training featured Willian in the attack with Neymar and Gabriel Jesus on Thursday, a hint that coach Tite might change his starting lineup.

SAINT-DENIS, France (AP) — Moments before lifting the French Cup again, Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva beckoned the valiant skipper from beaten third division side Les Herbiers to join him.

It was a fitting tribute to the resilience of the tiny club from western France following its 2-0 defeat against vastly superior opposition.

Brazil beats Russia 3-0 in friendly ahead of World Cup
MOSCOW (AP) — Brazil cruised to a 3-0 friendly win at World Cup host Russia on Friday without the injured Neymar.
