INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Tiffany Hayes made a key runner in the final minute and the Atlanta Dream held off the Indiana Fever for an 87-83 win on Sunday.
Hayes made it 85-79 with 26.2 seconds left and added a pair of free throws with 9.1 seconds left to secure the victory.
The Dream (8-8) had a 17-point halftime lead cut down to 72-69 on Candice Dupree's jumper with 5:06 left and the Fever hung close the rest of the way.

NEW YORK (AP) — Almost every WNBA team will go through a challenging road trip because of the FIBA World Cup in September that is compacting the season.

The Fever (1-10) trailed 38-35 at halftime before outscoring the Dream 36-16 advantage in the third quarter. Indiana opened the fourth quarter with a 15-6 run to lead 86-60 and put the game away.

PHOENIX (AP) — Brittney Griner scored 30 points and the Phoenix Mercury closed the regular season with an 84-70 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday to secure the fifth seed in the playoffs.
Phoenix (18-16) will host Seattle on Wednesday night.
Griner reached the 30-point mark for the sixth time in her career with a reverse layup with 1:23 remaining in the fourth quarter. She blocked Elizabeth Williams' shot at the other end. All six of her 30-point games have come this season.
