LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Utah State University is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice, an unusual step that comes after a string of sexual assault cases, school officials have confirmed.
Federal officials' investigation into the school is more serious than those going on at hundreds of other colleges across the country, said S. Daniel Carter, president of Safety Advisors for Educational Campuses LLC.
Michigan State hires law firm for Title IX program review
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A law firm has been hired to review Michigan State University's Title IX program.
The school said Friday that the Husch Blackwell firm was hired this month as part of its commitment to "strengthening efforts to combat sexual violence."
The firm is to focus on Title IX compliance, crisis and advocacy support services, prevention and education programs, awareness and outreach and campus feedback.
Tennessee begins search for systemwide Title IX coordinator
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has launched a national search for a Title IX coordinator to oversee the entire University of Tennessee system.
This was one of the recommendations an independent commission made this summer on how Tennessee could improve its Title IX compliance.
DANBURY— Lori Mazza has been named Western Connecticut State University director of athletics, school President Dr. John Clark announced Thursday. She will take the helm of the Colonials' 14 intercollegiate programs on Nov. 28.
