TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Democrat Andy Kim, a political newcomer and former national security aide in the Obama administration, defeated Republican Rep. Tom MacArthur in a tight race in which the incumbent's vote to roll back the Affordable Care Act was a hot issue.
Kim upset MacArthur in the hotly contested southern New Jersey district, widening the Democrats' edge in the House.
Counting goes on in unsettled NJ House race where Kim leads
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Officials say they're continuing to count votes in an unsettled New Jersey House race where Democrat Andy Kim has a narrow lead over Republican Rep. Tom MacArthur.
Officials in Burlington and Ocean counties said that as of late morning they had around 6,700 provisional and mail-in ballots left to count.
They hadn't provided an update as of Friday afternoon as to how many uncounted ballots remained or whether that work would continue over the weekend.
