FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona U.S. Rep Tom O'Halleran says he'll seek a third term to represent the state's most vast congressional district.
The Democrat made the announcement this week on social media. He says he's been honored to give rural Arizona a voice in Washington, D.C.
The 1st District covers much of northern Arizona, including Flagstaff and the Navajo Nation, and sweeps south through eastern Arizona.

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick has shut down her Washington, D.C., office as she prepares to leave office at the end of the year.
Kirkpatrick announces the closure Thursday and says her Washington staff will stay on to answer constituent questions through the end of the month. Offices in Tuba City, Show Low, Globe and Marana will close at the end of business Friday.
Her Flagstaff and Casa Grande offices will close on Dec. 15.

PHOENIX (AP) — Outgoing Arizona House Speaker David Gowan has created a political committee to seek a state Senate seat in 2018.
Thursday's political committee filing with the Arizona Secretary of State's office allows Gowan to raise money for a campaign.
GOP US Rep. Martha McSally wins 2nd term in southern Arizona
PHOENIX (AP) — GOP U.S. Rep. Martha McSally won a second term Tuesday in her Tucson-area swing district as Democrat Tom O'Halleran claimed an open seat to keep it in his party's hands.
McSally, a retired Air Force pilot, retained the 2nd Congressional District two years after she barely beat incumbent Democratic Rep. Ron Barber for the seat once held by Gabrielle Giffords.
