SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — From Mfiondu Kabengele's no-look off-the-glass basket to Terance Mann's double dunk in the final seconds, Florida State shot at a high rate.
The 11th-ranked Seminoles made a season-best 55 percent, including 10 of 18 from 3-point range, and beat Saint Louis 81-59 Saturday in the one-day Orange Bowl Classic.
"These are shots we've been getting all season," said guard David Nichols, who scored a season-high 19 points. "Sometimes they fall; sometimes they don't."
Saint Louis uses 17-0 run to defeat Butler 64-52
ST. LOUIS (AP) — The memories of falling to Butler by 30 points last season still remained fresh in Javon Bess' head as he took the court on Saturday with the task of guarding Bulldogs leading scorer Kamar Baldwin.
Bess held Baldwin to six points and added 18 points of his own in Saint Louis' 64-52 win over Butler on Saturday.

Saint Louis tops Virginia Tech behind Bess’ 22 points, 77-71
NEW YORK (AP) — Character was the theme espoused by Saint Louis coach Travis Ford and Virginia Tech coach Buzz Williams.
Ford praised his team's ethos, as opposed to Williams, who wondered about his squad's makeup.
"What haunts me is our character was revealed in how we played," Williams said after Saint Louis topped Virginia Tech, 77-71, in the opening round of the 2K Classic on Thursday night.
"This was the first time I was caught off-guard," Williams said.
Cops: Drunken bus driver stranded St. Louis basketball team
The Saint Louis University men's basketball team lost a game to St. Bonaventure — and then its bus.
The Billikens walked out of the arena Wednesday night following the team's 70-55 loss to the Bonnies, and their bus was nowhere to be found, said New York State Police Trooper James O'Callaghan. The driver, later identified as 56-year-old Linda Edmister of Gasport, New York, had taken off.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Aaron Hines scored a season-high 21 points and Saint Louis, despite going the final 7½ minutes without a field goal, held off Massachusetts 74-70 on Wednesday night.
The Billikens (6-14, 2-6 Atlantic 10) made 14 of 21 free throws after their final field goal and finished 39 of 55 at the line. It was the most free throws attempted in program history.
Underwood’s up-tempo style leading to wins at Oklahoma St
