AP Source: Browns agree with TE Harris on 2-year deal
CLEVELAND (AP) — A person familiar with the deal says the Cleveland Browns and free agent tight end Demetrius Harris have agreed to a two-year contract.
Sorry America, team you love to hate headed to Super Bowl
NOT THEM AGAIN!
Sorry America — at least outside of New England — but the team you love to hate is headed back to the Super Bowl.
Sure, there are negatives to point out with these Patriots. They haven't looked much more than mediocre on the road. Their defense is vulnerable, especially against dynamic passers, and Kansas City certainly has one of those in Patrick Mahomes.
Kelce, Kittle chase Gronkowski’s record for best TE season
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Getting a Twitter follow from Travis Kelce was one of the major accomplishments this season for San Francisco 49ers second-year tight end George Kittle.
Now heading into the final game of the season, Kittle is in a race with Kelce for the most productive season ever for a tight end.
Chiefs using screen plays in creative new ways on offense
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes had been shredding the Patriots defense all night with his incredible arm strength and downfield precision in a back-and-forth shootout last month when it looked as if the Chiefs quarterback might be finally corralled by a well-timed blitz.
With a deft flip of his wrist, Mahomes instead tossed a soft screen pass to Kareem Hunt out of the backfield, and he raced up the field as the Patriots were forced to chase him.
Chiefs becoming must-watch show with Mahomes under center
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — There are times that Dolphins coach Adam Gase hears about a cool play that happened somewhere else in the NFL, or something unique that a rival might be doing, and he makes a note to himself to check it out once his day-to-day work is complete.
Then there are times he flips on the TV for pure entertainment.
"Sometimes," Gase said, "when you watch Kansas City, you sit back and watch because it just seems like they're out there playing 7-on-7. It's impressive to watch."
Magic Mahomes: KC quarterback throws 3 TDs, Chiefs go to 8-1
CLEVELAND (AP) — With almost every flick of his right wrist, the legend of Patrick Mahomes grows.
And he's just beginning.
Only 10 games into his NFL career, Kansas City's young quarterback is doing things that have never been done before.
Browns lose defenders, drop fourth in row to end rough week
CLEVELAND (AP) — The coach changed. Everything else with the Cleveland Browns stayed the same.
Unable to slow Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City's thrill-a-minute offense, the Browns were soundly beaten — and beaten up — in a 37-21 loss on Sunday in Cleveland's first game under interim coach Gregg Williams.
Face to face: Browns GM to meet Chiefs team he helped build
CLEVELAND (AP) — John Dorsey's roughest week running the Browns will close with a reunion.
The Kansas City Chiefs were once his football family — before the feud.
On Sunday, Cleveland's first-year general manager will get an up-close look at the team he helped build into a Super Bowl contender playing against the one he's trying to revive after years of decay — and just days after another coaching clean-out.
Hunt’s hurdling TD catch helps Chiefs to sweep of Broncos
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kareem Hunt did everything but score on his best run against the Bengals, spinning away from a pair of would-be tacklers and hurdling another before getting dragged down short of the goal line.
He made sure to cap another incredible run against Denver with a score.
Chiefs complete season sweep of Broncos with 30-23 victory
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes had another 300-yard passing day with four touchdowns. Kareem Hunt had another hurdling, tackle-breaking touchdown that gave the Chiefs a lead they'd never surrender.
Travis Kelce and Sammy Watkins produced huge games, too, as the high-powered Kansas City offense once again made the incredible look downright casual in a 30-23 victory over Denver on Sunday that finished off a season sweep of the Broncos.
Bengals’ banged-up D gets high-flying Chiefs in prime time
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Marvin Lewis flipped on tape of the Kansas City Chiefs this week and saw Tyreek Hill moving all over the field, Kareem Hunt bulldozing for first downs, Travis Kelce making acrobatic catches, and Patrick Mahomes delivering the ball to all of them.
Then he was asked what worries him most about facing the Chiefs on Sunday night.
"Everything," Lewis said, adding a halfhearted laugh.
Chiefs using motion, unique formations to create nightmares
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs break huddle and line up in a traditional formation: Patrick Mahomes settles under center, Kareem Hunt is in the backfield, tight end Travis Kelce joins wide receiver Sammy Watkins on the right side, and Tyreek Hill and Demarcus Robinson head to the left.
Then, from a defensive perspective, all hell breaks loose.
Chiefs show complete team in lopsided win over Jags
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — For entirely different reasons, young quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs' defense had shared most of the public's attention through the first four weeks of the season.
Mahomes had been nearly perfect. The defense had been nearly inept.
Chiefs overcome adversity for first time in win at Denver
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes finally experienced some adversity on Monday night in Denver, when the offense had grown stagnant and the Chiefs trailed by 10 points with about 12 minutes to go.
He answered with a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback.
There was the grinding, 12-play, 75-yard drive that Mahomes capped with a short touchdown toss to Travis Kelce to give Kansas City a chance.
Showtime: Mahomes rallies Chiefs past Broncos, 27-23
DENVER (AP) — Patrick Mahomes is athletic, agile — and ambidextrous, apparently.
Thanks in part to a nifty left-handed throw as he was about to get sacked by Von Miller at midfield on the game-winning drive, the right-handed Mahomes rallied the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs past the Denver Broncos 27-23 on Monday night.
Chiefs unleash deep, talented arsenal on opposing defenses
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs were desperate for help at cornerback this past season, especially after trading Marcus Peters, yet general manager Brett Veach made what at the time was a curious decision.
He spent what little remained of his salary cap on Sammy Watkins.
The Chiefs were already loaded on offense with a veteran offensive line, a speedster in Tyreek Hill, the reigning rushing champion in Kareem Hunt and one of the league's best tight ends in Travis Kelce.

FANTASY PLAYS: Saints-Falcons, SF-KC stacks for Week 3
Week 2 was another high scoring slate in the NFL and another week when daily fantasy sports contests were won by rostering the passing attack from just a handful of games.
FANTASY PLAYS: Players to start and sit in Week 2
Week 1 was a weak one for the likes of Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt, Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan and any fantasy Football owner who had a Bills player in their lineup. The good news is that last week is but a fleeting memory, while Week 2 offers a fresh batch of players who must be in the lineup along with others best off sitting on the sideline.
Chiefs’ Mahomes ready for his era to begin in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The differences between Patrick Mahomes and Alex Smith are undeniable, one of them an up-and-coming quarterback with a big arm and little experience, the other the consummate game manager whose ability to avoid mistakes has served him well over the years.
Chiefs’ backups rally for 33-21 preseason win over Packers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The biggest stars to play for the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night won't be around for the season opener, and it won't be because they're backups about to get cut.
Demetrius Harris caught an early touchdown pass for Kansas City, and Aaron Jones ran for 34 yards and a score for Green Bay, then the Chiefs rallied in a game of backups and also-rans for a 33-21 victory in the preseason finale for both teams.
Pats’ Gronk gets $4.3M raise, highest paid tight end in NFL
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots has all the incentives to become the NFL's highest paid tight end.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus said Thursday the Patriots have added $4.3 million in incentives to Gronkowski's contract for the next two seasons. The deal includes $1 million in per game bonuses and $3.3 million in incentives for catches, playing time and touchdowns.
Chiefs offensive line has crucial job in protecting Pat
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — The talk all offseason surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs has been the way general manager Brett Veach's front office has surrounded young quarterback Patrick Mahomes II with the weapons to succeed.
They already had speedster Tyreek Hill and tight end Travis Kelce. They brought in Kareem Hunt in last year's draft and he led the league in rushing. This offseason, they spent lavishly to sign wide receiver Sammy Watkins to a three-year deal to provide another downfield threat.
FANTASY PLAYS: TE, defense, kickers not to be ignored
A majority of fantasy football research tends to focus on running backs, wide receivers and quarterbacks. But the other three positions are equally as crucial and can ultimately help you win your league. Knowing the right time to grab a tight end and when to keep waiting is key, as is your weekly strategy for defenses and even kickers.
Sammy Watkins another option for Chiefs offense
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Sammy Watkins made quite the impression on the first day of Kansas City Chiefs training camp on Thursday.
The veteran wide receiver is one of the newest options for first-year starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
"The guy's an unbelievable talent, he really is," tight end Travis Kelce said of Watkins.
A collective groan howled across the fantasy football world upon news of Chargers tight end Hunter Henry's torn knee ligament on the first day of organized team activities.
Henry had become the cool kid in the tight end class as the departure of Antonio Gates opened the door for Henry to emerge as a top 5 TE with the upside to rival New England's Rob Gronkowski, Travis Kelce of the Chiefs and Philadelphia's Zach Ertz.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City Chiefs tight end Demetrius Harris was suspended one game without pay by the NFL on Tuesday for violating its substance abuse policy.
Harris pleaded guilty in March in Bates County, Missouri, to one count of marijuana possession and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to two days in jail, fined $500 and given two years' probation along with 80 hours of community service.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs were awarded tight end Alex Ellis off waivers from the New Orleans Saints and released defensive tackle Stefan Charles as part of a series of roster moves Tuesday.
Kansas City also waived backup running back Akeem Hunt with a failed physical designation; signed rookie free agents Step Durham, Tejan Koroma, Robert McCray, Malik Reaves and Jordan Smallward; and waived Prince Charles Iworah, Devondre Seymour, Brandon Shippen and Nelson Spruce.
New Bears head coach Matt Nagy had a lot to say at this week’s NFL meetings in Orlando, Fla., as he always does when the topic is football. And even G.M. Ryan Pace, who usually plays it close to the vest, dispensed some valuable information. Here are the five most noteworthy takeaways, as the Bears prepare to start the offseason program next Tuesday at Halas Hall.
1. Nagy has big plans for TE Trey Burton in his offense.
Chiefs’ overhaul focused on youth, speed
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — With the departures of longtime veterans and fan favorites, the Kansas City Chiefs have tried to make their offseason roster turnover about youth, speed and aggressive play — an approach coach Andy Reid underscored Thursday with the official introduction of new arrivals Sammy Watkins and Anthony Hitchens.
"We're so excited about the future, man, it's the energy level," Reid said. "We've got a great nucleus coming back, we've added some players that are top notch."
Titans’ Delanie Walker replaces Travis Kelce at Pro Bowl
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee tight end Delanie Walker has replaced Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce on the AFC roster for the Pro Bowl.
Walker was named as Kelce's replacement Tuesday.
This will be the third straight Pro Bowl appearance for Walker, who was an alternate this season. Walker led the Titans with 74 catches and 807 yards receiving, and he also scored three touchdowns.
Chiefs hope illness has run its course ahead of playoffs
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs' practice facility near Arrowhead Stadium is named for the University of Kansas Hospital, which is altogether fitting given the state of the team the past few years.
Lysol would be another fitting sponsor.
That's because the Chiefs almost certainly doused the building in disinfectant while they were on the road for their regular-season finale, a 27-24 victory over the Denver Broncos.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Troy Fumagalli said before this season began that he believed himself to be the best tight end in the country.
Over the past 13 games, the University of Wisconsin senior nearly convinced everyone else he was, too.
Chiefs’ struggles in red zone have been costly this season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs thought they had a touchdown when Travis Kelce hauled in a 10-yard pass from Alex Smith early in the second quarter of last Sunday's victory over Oakland.
They wound up with a field goal.
The touchdown was wiped out when right tackle Mitchell Schwartz had wandered too far downfield, and a pair of incomplete passes bookending a sack by Khalil Mack nixed the drive.
AFC West-leading Chiefs left reeling after loss to Giants
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs' spot atop the AFC West remained unchanged after the weekend.
The public perception of them? Well, if that hadn't done a 180-degree turn from the start of the season, when a 5-0 start had them mentioned as Super Bowl contenders, it surely did on Sunday, when a humiliating loss to the New York Giants was their fourth in the past five games.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is among NFL’s best receivers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The list of the league's most productive receivers since the midway point of last season reads as what you might expect, highlighted by Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown right on top.
Mike Evans is there. So are T.Y. Hilton and Brandin Cooks.
But the second-most productive pass-catcher is not Julio Jones or Odell Beckham Jr., DeAndre Hopkins or Stefon Diggs. In fact, the name right behind Brown on the list isn't a wide receiver at all.
Chiefs force 5 TOs, beat Broncos 29-19 in AFC West showdown
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs proved Monday night they can play a little defense, too.
The same group that struggled to contain the Steelers and Raiders in back-to-back losses shut down Denver, picking off Trevor Siemian three times, picking up two fumbles and taking one of them back for a touchdown in a 29-19 victory over their AFC West rivals.
Gronk tops AP’s tight ends list, with KC’s Kelce close 2nd
DALLAS (AP) — Rob Gronkowski needs to party less and Travis Kelce should keep his cool more.
Those observations aside, the New England star and Kansas City's reigning All-Pro are a clear consensus among an Associated Press panel as the top two tight ends in the NFL.
Texans’ Gilchrist fined $24K for helmet hit on Chiefs’ Kelce
NEW YORK (AP) — Houston Texans safety Marcus Gilchrist has been fined $24,309 by the NFL for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce last Sunday night.
Gilchrist was penalized for unnecessary roughness in the second quarter of the Chiefs' 42-34 victory when his helmet made contact with Kelce's helmet while trying to tackle the tight end following a 26-yard catch. Kelce was forced out of the game with a concussion.
Chiefs’ Kelce, Houston return to practice ahead of Steelers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pass rusher Justin Houston were back on the practice field Friday and should be ready to go when Kansas City plays the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Kelce cleared the NFL's concussion protocol earlier in the week. Houston had calf spasms.
Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Albert Wilson will also play after both were limited Thursday, coach Andy Reid said. Hill had a hamstring issue and Wilson had a knee injury.

Chiefs have overcome injuries, schedule woes in 5-0 start
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Andy Reid had just finished the Kansas City Chiefs' morning walkthrough inside the team's practice facility when he stepped up to a microphone and began a roster roll call.
At least, that's what it sounded like.
The long list of names was in fact the injury report, a listing of guys who weren't going to be at the full afternoon practice.
Banged-up Redskins show glimpses of being playoff contenders
After a tighter-than-expected victory by the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, Travis Kelce complimented D.J. Swearinger and told him that the Washington Redskins just need to get healthy.
Chiefs last unbeaten left through first 4 weeks of season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The biggest reason the Kansas City Chiefs are the last remaining unbeaten team through the first four weeks of the NFL season is that someone long ago decided games should be 60 minutes.
The Patriots sure wish they lasted 30. Ditto the Redskins.
The Chiefs showed their second-half chops once again on Monday night, rallying from an early 10-point deficit against Washington.
Every Thursday during the fantasy football season, Arthur Arkush will open up his first of two weekly six-packs containing thoughts and tidbits for the fantasy weekend ahead.
Chiefs Preview Capsule

New faces: LB Reggie Ragland, QB Patrick Mahomes II, RB Kareem Hunt, LB Kevin Pierre-Louise, DT Bennie Logan.
Key losses: WR Jeremy Maclin, RB Jamaal Charles, DT Dontari Poe, LB D.J. Alexander, LB Josh Mauga.
Fantasy Football: Which TEs will rise up to top-12 status for first time in 2017?
The struggle is real. Just as actual clubs scour endlessly for the increasingly rare two-way tight end in today's NFL, many fantasy players covet a difference-maker that won't cost them a premium pick (Travis Kelce), sleepless nights (Tyler Eifert) or both (Gronk, Reed).
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Kareem Hunt has spent enough time getting an earful from Chiefs running backs coach Eric Bieniemy to know that any comparison to the fiery assistant should be taken as a compliment.
Turns out that's exactly how tight end Travis Kelce chose to describe the rookie from Toledo.
