Sanders, Blake lead Idaho past North Dakota 96-71
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Victor Sanders scored 26 points, Brayon Blake added 24 and Idaho rolled to a 96-71 victory over North Dakota on Saturday night.
Idaho (14-7, 6-3 Big Sky Conference) rebounded from a 17-point loss to Northern Colorado on Thursday to keep pace with Eastern Washington, who beat the Bears 67-65 Saturday. The Vandals and EWU remain a half-game back of second-place Weber State in the conference standings.
Stewart scores 20 as North Dakota defeats North Dakota State
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Marlon Stewart scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead five players in double figures as North Dakota turned back North Dakota State 86-77 on Tuesday night.
Dale Jones hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 with six rebounds for the Fighting Hawks (7-11). Conner Avants also had 17 points, Geno Crandall scored 12 and Tray Buchanan added 10.
Hall scores 25, Montana St downs N Dakota 79-68
BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Tyler Hall scored 25 points, Harald Frey added 14, and Montana State beat North Dakota 79-68 on Saturday for its first 4-0 Big Sky Conference start since 2004-05.
Joe Mvuezolo Jr. also scored 14 points and Keljin Blevins grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds for the Bobcats (11-6, 4-0), who outrebounded the Fighting Hawks 42-29 and made nine 3-pointers.
Akoh, Rorie lead streaking Montana 109-79 past North Dakota
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Jamar Akoh and Ahmaad Rorie scored 22 points each as Montana walloped defending Big Sky champion North Dakota 109-79 Thursday night. The Grizzlies have won five of their last six, the last two by 30.
Montana (10-5, 3-0) led 14-0, holding North Dakota, which has lost its last seven, scoreless for more than seven minutes until Tray Buchanan hit a 3-pointer.
Bliznyuk scores 29 as E Washington tops North Dakota 77-64
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Bogdan Bliznyuk went on a tear in the second half, scored 29 points on 12-for-18 shooting and Eastern Washington defeated North Dakota 77-64 on Sunday.
The win was the first time Eastern Washington (6-9, 1-1 Big Sky Conference) has won in Grand Forks.
The Eagles led 42-26 at halftime but North Dakota (4-9, 0-2) steadily worked the lead down to 50-47 when Tray Buchanan hit from 3 with 10:38 remaining.
N Dakota beats Presentation 82-75 on Avants’ career night
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Conner Avants scored a career-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting, Geno Crandall added 20 points with five assists, and North Dakota never trailed in beating NAIA Presentation College 82-75 on Tuesday night.
Marlon Stewart had a career-high nine of the 24 assists the Fighting Hawks (4-3) used in making 35 of 64 shots from the field (54.7 percent) and 6 of 27 from long distance (22.2 percent). Tray Buchanan had 10 points and Dale Jones grabbed 10 rebounds.
North Dakota beats Pine Bluff 80-71 in Rainbow Classic
HONOLULU (AP) — Cortez Seales had 22 points, six rebounds and four assists to help North Dakota beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 80-71 in the final night of Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic on Monday.
The Fighting Hawks (2-1) pulled away with a 13-2 run to lead 58-46 on Tray Buchanan's pair of free throws with 12:22 to play.
