ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Bills coach Sean McDermott overlooked Buffalo's losing record in making the case the team's trajectory is pointing up.
"Nobody wants to be 6-10," McDermott said Monday, a day after the Bills closed the season with a 42-17 win over the Miami Dolphins.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Micah Hyde laughs at the recollection of just turned 20-year-old linebacker Tremaine Edmunds having difficulty spitting out calls in the defensive huddle during one of the Buffalo Bills first offseason practices in May.
"They threw him in the fire and put him in the huddle and, man, he was tongue-tied," the safety said. "We were all laughing, like, 'Dude, just slow down, just calm down.'"

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — First-round draft picks, quarterback Josh Allen and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, might be the Buffalo Bills' most high-profile rookies making a notable impact this season.
They're not the only ones.
Though eliminated from playoff contention, the Bills (5-9) are getting a promising glimpse into the future in seeing the initial signs of their commitment to rebuild through youth starting to pay off at numerous positions.
Peterman to start for Bills; Anderson out with concussion
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Nathan Peterman will start at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills on Sunday against the Chicago Bears after Derek Anderson was ruled out with a concussion.
The Bills (2-6) said Saturday that Anderson and rookie linebacker Tremaine Edmunds have not cleared concussion protocol.
Rookie quarterback Josh Allen has a sprained elbow) and already has been ruled out for a third straight game. Anderson was hurt in the final minutes of a 25-6 loss to New England on Monday night.
Bills quarterback Derek Anderson questionable for Bears
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills quarterback Derek Anderson is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears after missing practice all week because of to a concussion.
If Anderson cannot play, Nathan Peterman will start.
Middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is also questionable and not expected to play. He, too, missed practice this week because of a concussion.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier was in the midst of discussing his ideal prototypical sizes for players at various positions, when Tremaine Edmunds' name was mentioned.
"Hah," Frazier said, before pausing to buy time to put the 20-year-old rookie starting middle linebacker's 6-foot-5, 250-pound frame and sideline-to-sideline range into perspective.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have signed first-round draft pick Tremaine Edmunds of Virginia Tech to a four-year deal.
The team announced the signing of the linebacker Saturday. Buffalo traded up to the 16th selection to get Edmunds. He had 109 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 2017.
That leaves the Bills with two of eight draft picks unsigned: Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen (first round) and Stanford defensive tackle Harrison Phillips (third round).
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have signed four of eight draft picks in preparing to open their annual rookie minicamp.
The Bills on Thursday signed both fifth-round selections, Jacksonville State safety Siran Neal and Virginia Tech guard Wyatt Teller. The Bills also signed their final two draft picks, Clemson receiver Ray-Ray McCloud and North Carolina receiver Austin Proehl.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Offensive line depth and receiver remain two of the Buffalo Bills most pressing needs with five picks spread over the final four rounds of the NFL draft.
Buffalo opens Saturday with the 21st pick in the fourth round and close with the second-to-last pick in the draft, 255th overall.
