MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have completed a $1.8 million, one-year contract with right-handed reliever Blake Parker, the team's first offseason addition to the bullpen.

The deal was reached Friday, when the Twins also decided not to offer a contract to outfielder Robbie Grossman, who becomes a free agent.
Rosario, Adrianza lead Twins past Royals 10-6
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Twins manager Paul Molitor is taking full advantage of expanded September rosters.

Twins down White Sox 5-2, spoil Kopech’s debut
CHICAGO (AP) — A little rain cut short Michael Kopech's anticipated big league debut Tuesday night. Couldn't damper his spirits, though.
Eddie Rosario led the Minnesota Twins to a 5-2 victory, but not before Kopech pitched two scoreless innings in a rain-shortened start and gave Chicago a glimpse of a potentially promising future.
"It was a dream come true," Kopech said. "It was everything I thought about since I was a little kid. I was pumped."
Trevor May recalled by Twins from Triple-A Rochester
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Right-hander Trevor May has been recalled by the Minnesota Twins from Triple-A Rochester after missing the 2017 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
May was 0-4 with a 4.00 ERA in four starts and nine relief appearances for the Red Wings, with 16 walks and 25 strikeouts. He was 13-17 with a 5.14 ERA with the Twins from 2014-16.
Minnesota announced the move Tuesday, a day after trading Lance Lynn to the New York Yankees.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have reinstated right-handed pitcher Trevor May from the disabled list and assigned him to Triple-A, a little less than 15 months after Tommy John elbow surgery.
May had the ligament replacement procedure on March 22 last year after he got hurt during a spring training game. He has a 5.50 ERA in 18 innings with 12 walks and 20 strikeouts in six rehab appearances, including four starts.
Twins GM Thad Levine: Free agent market slow, trade market slower
FORT MYERS, FLA. Trevor May threw fastballs and made a plan to throw changeups, the coaching staff sat in conference-room meetings to plan on-the-field workouts, half the bullpen unpacked bags and hustled out to make afternoon tee times, and Joe Mauer wandered into the clubhouse nearly a week early. The last day before baseball breaks out at Hammond Stadium passed with half-speed intensity but full-speed expectations.

Roy Halladay’s death stings players he influenced, including Twins pitcher Trevor May
Trevor May was a high school pitcher in Kelso, Wash., and was selected in the fourth round of the 2008 draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. That was a season when the Phillies would win the second World Series in their history.

Twins reliever Ryan O’Rourke to have left elbow surgery
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Twins reliever Ryan O'Rourke will have surgery for a partially torn ligament in his left elbow. There is no timetable for his return.
Twins general manager Thad Levine announced the decision before Tuesday's game at Texas.
O'Rourke began the season on the 10-day disabled list because of a strained forearm. A persistent sore elbow prompted his transfer Monday to the 60-day disabled list.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have placed left-hander Glen Perkins on the 60-day disabled list with a left posterior shoulder strain, a byproduct of his recovery from surgery last season to repair a torn labrum.
Moving Perkins to the long-term disabled list on Sunday was necessary so the Twins could add backup catcher Chris Gimenez to the 40-man roster.

Colon (0-1) reached behind his back to try to glove the bouncer and knocked it down. His throw home beat Mauer, but catcher Yan Gomes couldn't handle it and was charged with an error on the play.
To Twins reliever May, ERA doesn’t tell the full story
ARLINGTON, TEXAS Trevor May winces when he looks at his statistics. They say hes having a pretty mediocre season, more hits than innings, and way too many runs. A 5.46 ERA generally consigns a relief pitcher to mop-up work.
But the Twins righthander, who missed nearly a month because of a sore back, believes the numbers lie, or at least obscure an important truth: That except for a 10-day stretch, when his mechanics were off-kilter and his pitches hung in the strike zone,...
