The Ragin' Cajuns (4-4, 3-1 Sun Belt) trailed 43-40 when Ragas capped an 11-play, 55-yard drive with a 4-yard run to give them a 47-43 edge with 1:18 to play. The defense shut down the Redwolves (4-4, 1-3) after that to preserve the win.
Andre Nunez threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns. Raymond Calais ran for 121 yards and a score.

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Elijah Mitchell ran for 191 yards and three touchdowns and Louisiana-Lafayette snapped a three-game losing streak by topping Texas State, 42-27 for its first Sun Belt victory of the season Saturday night.
The Ragin' Cajuns now are unbeaten in seven games all-time against Texas State and have outscored the Bobcats 103-40 in three games in San Marcos.

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Andre Nunez threw for 232 yards and a touchdown in his first start for Louisiana, and the Ragin' Cajuns beat Texas State 24-7 on Thursday night.
Nunez, a junior walk-on from Iowa Western Community College, threw a lofted pass to Keenan Barnes in the corner of the end zone for an 8-yard score to cap the scoring with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Freshman Trey Ragas rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns for Louisiana (3-3, 2-1 Sun Belt).
Louisiana holds off Idaho 21-16
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Andre Nunez hooked up with Ja'Marcus Bradley for a 45-yard touchdown early in the third quarter and the Louisiana defense stopped Idaho on downs at the 30 with 1:47 to play to preserve a 21-16 win on Saturday.
Nunez took the Ragin' Cajuns (2-3, 1-1 Sun Belt Conference), who had lost three straight, 75 yards in five plays after the second half kickoff to make it 21-10.

13 Louisiana-Lafayette players arrested, suspended
LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Louisiana-Lafayette has indefinitely suspended 13 players facing charges of criminal conspiracy to commit felony theft.
The suspended players are tight end Matthew Barnes, defensive ends Joe Dillon and Jarvis Jeffries, offensive linemen Robert Hunt and D'Aquin Withrow, linebacker Terik Miller, defensive backs Denarius Howard, Damar'ren Mitchell, Simeon Thomas and Levarious Varnado, defensive tackle LaDarrius Kidd and running backs Trey Ragas and Jordan Wright.
