ROXBURY, Vt. (AP) — Construction got underway Wednesday on a project to rebuild Vermont's oldest fish hatchery, which was put out of business by flooding from Tropical Storm Irene in 2011.

Services set for Virginia firefighter killed during Michael
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Visitation and memorial services are set for this week for a firefighter who was killed while responding to a crash during Tropical Storm Michael.
TV station WRIC reports visitations honoring Hanover County Fire Lt. Brad Clark will be held Monday and Tuesday at a funeral home in Richmond. A memorial service will follow on Wednesday in Doswell.
Greensboro says 1M gallons wastewater spilled during Michael
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — The city of Greensboro says flooding from Tropical Storm Michael caused more than 1 million gallons of untreated wastewater to overflow from its facilities.
The city announced the spills Saturday evening. It says the largest discharge was 800,000 gallons that flowed over a 16-hour period into a creek.
Record-setting rainfall slows Phoenix traffic, shutters fair
PHOENIX (AP) — Record-setting rainfall from remnants of Tropical Storm Sergio closed the Arizona State Fair on Saturday and slowed traffic on a freeway and local streets across metro Phoenix.
Fair officials said on Twitter that the closure Saturday afternoon for the rest of the day because of weather was the first "in recent memory" and they cheerfully noted that sunny skies are forecast for Sunday. The annual fair opened Oct. 5 and runs through Oct. 28.

Utility crews restoring power across Virginia after Michael
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Utility crews will be working throughout the weekend to restore power to Virginia customers affected by Tropical Storm Michael.
Dominion Energy said in a news release Saturday afternoon that more than 6,000 personnel are working to get power back up for about 120,000 customers who remain without service.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Several ferry routes in North Carolina will shut down operations as Hurricane Michael is expected to enter the state with tropical storm-force winds and heavy rain.
State officials said in a news release that several ferries will make one round trip Thursday morning.
