Titans have safety Kenny Vaccaro available vs. Redskins
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have starting safety Kenny Vaccaro available against the Washington Redskins after he worked his way through the concussion protocol.
That leaves the Titans (8-6) without only a pair of defensive starters. Linebacker Brian Orakpo is missing his second straight game with an injured elbow and cornerback Logan Ryan is on injured reserve with a broken left leg.
Redskins lose another offensive lineman for season
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Rookie tackle Geron Christian is out for the rest of the season in the latest significant injury to the Washington Redskins' offensive line.
Coach Jay Gruden said Monday that Christian will miss the final seven games of the regular season and any in the playoffs after tearing the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Christian, the Redskins' third-round pick who was forced into action by a bevy of injuries, hurt his knee Sunday at Tampa Bay.
Redskins rule out Crowder, Thompson and Williams vs. Falcons
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — The Washington Redskins have ruled out wide receiver Jamison Crowder, running back Chris Thompson and left tackle Trent Williams for their game Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — The Washington Redskins have re-signed Shawn Lauvao as they look to fill a hole at starting left guard.
The team announced the deal Tuesday. Lauvao spent the past four seasons with Washington, starting all 41 of his appearances.
Lauvao, 30, re-signed almost two months into free agency. The Redskins did not draft a guard, though coach Jay Gruden floated the idea of moving swing tackle Ty Nsekhe to that spot.
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — The Washington Redskins have shored up their offensive line by re-signing swing tackle Ty Nsekhe and interior lineman Tony Bergstrom and exercising the fifth-year option on starting right guard Brandon Scherff's contract.
The Redskins announced the deals Monday as they began their offseason program. The signings ensure depth along the line for at least next season.
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Kicker Dustin Hopkins has re-signed with the Washington Redskins, and backup offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe was given a second-round tender worth about $2.9 million.
The Redskins announced both moves Monday.
Hopkins has made 73 of 87 field-goal attempts in three seasons, putting him at 83.9 percent, which ranks second in franchise history among kickers with at least 50 tries. His career-long kick is 54 yards.
He's also made 94.9 percent of extra points, going 93 of 98.

Washington Redskins’ Trent Williams battling knee injury; hopes to play Thursday vs Dallas Cowboys
In most situations, Trent Williams would stand out based on his 6-foot-5, 320-pound frame coupled with athleticism that’s unparalleled for a man his size.
Even during some of his early years with the Washington Redskins, Williams was, at times, vastly bigger than the rest of the offensive linemen on the roster. But times are different now, and Williams could potentially be the smallest starting offensive lineman on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys if he is active, at least in his eyes.
Jamison Crowder tweaked hamstring chasing down Kirk Cousins interception
ASHBURN Redskins wide receiver Jamison Crowder isn't sure whether he'll be able to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. He was officially listed as questionable Friday, but hasn't practiced all week with a hamstring injury.
Crowder said his hamstring feels good at times, but then starts to feel different when he goes to work out. The wide receiver has rehabbed to the side at practice.
ASHBURN | The Washington Redskins will have a walkthrough Tuesday and as of Monday, Jay Gruden wasn't sure if he would have a left tackle on the field.
Third-stringer T.J. Clemmings sprained his ankle Sunday during the Redskins' 33-19 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and Washington was already without starter Trent Williams (knee) and Ty Nsekhe (core muscle).
The coach guessed guard Tyler Catalina would take over, as he did briefly near the end of Sunday's game.
Spencer Long out as Redskins adjusting to banged up offensive line
ASHBURN Jay Gruden couldn't help but laugh. After naming guard Tyler Catalina as the Redskins' contingency plan in case Brandon Scherff (knee) misses Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins coach laughed while adding an important caveat.
"If he can go," Gruden said, referencing Catalina recovering from a concussion.
The Redskins offensive line is banged up with four of their five starters missing practice throughout the week.
Redskins say Norman is week-to-week with fractured rib
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Redskins say cornerback Josh Norman is week-to-week after fracturing a rib Monday night in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Coach Jay Gruden provided the update on Norman and other injured players during a conference call with reporters Tuesday. Norman said after the 29-20 loss that he fell awkwardly on the heel of someone's shoe and that it hurt to breathe.
The Redskins have a bye week coming up before hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 15.
Banged-up Redskins get Williams back at critical juncture
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Trent Williams was glad to be talking about practice. He was happy to back on the football field.
Washington's left tackle is back after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, and his return could not have come at a more opportune time for the banged-up Redskins (6-5-1). Washington faces a crucial stretch beginning Sunday at the Philadelphia Eagles and can use the boost on its offensive line.

Injured Redskins TE Jordan Reed to miss game at Cardinals
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed will miss Sunday's game at the Arizona Cardinals with a sprained left shoulder.
Redskins coach Jay Gruden announced Friday that Reed would sit out. It'll be the third game missed this season by Reed, who leads the Redskins with 59 catches. He has 630 yards receiving and five TDs.
Redskins expanding role of rookie ‘hybrid’ Su’a Cravens
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Su'a Cravens figured out a few practices into his NFL career what life in the trenches was like.
"I was about 217 pounds playing (middle) linebacker with no pads on going against guys like (tackles Ty Nsekhe and Trent Williams)," Cravens recalled, "and I didn't know Trent was as fast as me so I got thrown out the club about three or four times in the first couple OTA practices before I was like, 'OK let me just make a decision and live with it.'"
Redskins’ Ty Nsekhe took winding, bumpy road to NFL
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Not too long ago, Ty Nsekhe was making $150 a week playing Arena Football and running on hope.
Now he's the starting left tackle for the Washington Redskins — an opportunity afforded him after Pro Bowler Trent Williams' suspension and years of patience. Nsekhe has four games to prove what he has always believed and tried to show during every tryout: he belongs in the NFL.
