South Carolina holds off Georgia rallies in 86-80 win
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Now that Chris Silva and his coach are on the same page, there may be no stopping the South Carolina forward.
Silva and A.J. Lawson scored 19 points apiece as South Carolina ended a two-game losing streak with an 86-80 win over Georgia on Saturday.
Over the last three games, Silva has scored 32 against Auburn, 15 against Oklahoma State and 28 against No. 1 Tennessee. The two games before that he scored nine total.
Coach Frank Martin said he mishandled Silva earlier this year.
Crump’s 21 points lift hot-shooting Dogs past Texas, 98-88
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Tom Crean couldn't help but marvel at Georgia's shooting from the floor, on 3-pointers and from the free-throw line.
"Not sure I've ever coached a team in all my 19 years that shot that well," said Crean, the former Indiana and Marquette coach in his first season in Athens.
Tyree Crump scored 21 points while setting a career high with six 3-pointers and hot-shooting Georgia beat Texas 98-88 on Saturday in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
Claxton leads in scoring and rebounding, Georgia tops UMass
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Getting off to a fast start has not been the problem for Georgia's basketball team. Sustaining the effort? That has been something altogether different.
Paced by 20 points and 11 rebounds from Nicolas Claxton, the Bulldogs started fast and stayed with it in a 91-72 win over Massachusetts Sunday.
Claxton too much for Jackets as Georgia beats Georgia Tech
ATLANTA (AP) — Nicolas Claxton loved how Georgia started out denying entry points and disrupting Georgia Tech's passing lanes.
The Bulldogs dominated the game with their length.
"It was a huge win," the 6-foot-11 Claxton said. "We came out strong. In the second half they had a little surge but we just kept fighting."
Claxton had 13 points and 13 rebounds, Teshaun Hightower added 12 points, and Georgia beat Georgia Tech 70-59 on Saturday.
No. 20 Sun Devils rally from 18 down to beat Georgia 76-74
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley thought his team showed the kind of toughness it needs to get back to the NCAA Tournament this season.
"I just think it's a great ceiling with great potential," he said. "We're a determined group, a resilient group, and a lot of teams would've back out of this one maybe at halftime."
Remy Martin scored 21 points, Romello White added 16 and No. 20 Arizona State rallied from an 18-point deficit to beat Georgia 76-74 on Saturday night.
Crump scores career-high 25, Georgia beats Texas Southern
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Tyree Crump was thrilled when first-year coach Tom Crean announced that Georgia would be shooting plenty of 3-pointers this season.
"I was in the gym a lot this summer, just working on shooting, working on my game," Crump said. "I felt like that carried over to the season and also coach Crean getting my form right."
Crump scored a career-high 25 points, Nicolas Claxton added 15 points and nine rebounds, and Georgia had little trouble beating Texas Southern 92-75 on Monday night.
Last season: 18-15, 7-11 SEC, declined possible NIT bid.

Mississippi State beats Georgia, wins 3rd straight SEC game
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Lamar Peters scored a season-high 20 points to lead Mississippi State to a 72-57 win over Georgia on Saturday night.
Quinndary Weatherspoon and his brother Nick Weatherspoon added 14 points for Mississippi State while Aric Holman chipped in 12 points, all of which came in the second half. The Bulldogs (17-6, 5-5 SEC) have now won three straight SEC games.
Georgia (13-9, 5-5) received 13 points from Yante Maten and Tyree Crump while Pape Diatta added 12 points.
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — After leading a comeback win over Auburn, Georgia senior J.J. Frazier got down on his hands and knees and kissed the "G'' at midcourt of Stegeman Coliseum.
He's hoping it was a goodbye kiss.
Frazier had 31 points after being held scoreless in the first 11 minutes and Georgia overcame a 16-point deficit to beat Auburn 79-78 on Wednesday night and extend its late-season surge.
Reserves Crump, Geno score career highs in Georgia win
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — On a night when his veteran superstars were not performing to their potential, Georgia basketball coach Mark Fox found offensive firepower elsewhere.
Freshman Tyree Crump and senior Kenny Paul Geno both came off the bench to score career highs in leading Georgia to an 86-72 win over Morehouse Wednesday night.
Crump scored 16 points, hitting every shot he took, and Geno scored 15. He came into the game with three points in the first six games for the Bulldogs.

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Freshman Tyree Crump scored 16 points and senior Kenny Paul Geno came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points and Georgia beat Morehouse 86-72 on Wednesday night.
Geno entered having scored only three points in the Bulldogs' first six games, but scored nine points in nine minutes in the first half and Georgia (5-2) led 36-30 at halftime.
