Wyoming tight end trio return for 2018 season
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The task that faced Tyree Mayfield, Austin Fort and Josh Harshman last season was a simple but unenviable one: make up for Jacob Hollister's production.
Hollister, now a tight end with the New England Patriots, caught 32 balls for 515 yards and seven touchdowns in 2016 en route to first-team all-Mountain West honors. As a unit, the Wyoming tight ends caught 40 balls for 598 yards and seven scores that year.
Wyoming keeps Bronze Boot with 16-13 win over rival Colorado State to become bowl eligible
LARAMIE — It was tough sledding for most of the night as Wyoming's offense struggled to find the end zone in a snow-covered Border War game Saturday against Colorado State. But with 43 rushing yards in the game's final quarter, Kellen Overstreet gave Wyoming just the nudge it needed for a 16-13 win.
Wyoming is now bowl eligible in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1987-88.
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming's tight end group finds itself in a situation that's far from unique on the Cowboys' offense.
Gone from last season is 86 percent of the tight ends' receiving yards. But they will get no pity from Wyoming's running backs, who lost 99 percent of their rushing yards, or receivers, who lost 80 percent of their receiving yards.
That doesn't make replacing Jacob Hollister any less of a challenge.

The Air Force defender opposite him bit on Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen's play action, leaving the senior wide open in the flat for his second of two catches in the Cowboys' 35-26 victory on Oct. 8.
