HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Austin Williams had 14 points off the bench to lead Marist to a 63-61 win over Quinnipiac on Friday night.
Brian Parker had 12 points and six assists for Marist (11-14, 6-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Ryan Funk added 10 points.
Matthew Herasme made a pair of free throws with 14 seconds left to give the Red Foxes a 62-58 lead.
Cameron Young had 24 points for the Bobcats (13-11, 8-5). Jacob Rigoni added 13 points. Tyrese Williams had seven rebounds.
Young carries Quinnipiac past Rider 98-88 in OT
HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Cameron Young had 25 points as Quinnipiac topped Rider 98-88 in overtime on Tuesday night. Tyrese Williams added 23 points for the Bobcats.
Rich Kelly had 16 points for Quinnipiac (13-10, 8-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). He also had eight turnovers and four assists. Jacob Rigoni added 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
Young scores 29 in Quinnipiac’s 92-78 victory
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Cameron Young scored 29 points with six 3-pointers and Quinnipiac beat Marist 92-78 on Friday night, scoring a season-high point total in snapping a two-game skid.
The Bobcats (9-9, 4-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led just 39-37 at halftime. But Quinnipiac shot 64 percent in the second half when they outscored the Red Foxes 23-12 to open the period, with Young scoring nine points in the run, and the Bobcats remained in front by double figures thereafter.
Young scores 20 points, Quinnipiac gets past Fairfield 80-78
HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Cameron Young scored 20 points with six rebounds and five assists and Quinnipiac held off Fairfield 80-78 on Sunday.
The Bobcats (8-7, 3-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic) took the lead for good when Tyrese Williams' layup made it 74-72 with two minutes left. Quinnipiac made six of its last eight foul shots to secure the win and Fairfield's Jesus Cruz hit a 3 with 0.7 left for the final margin.
Quinnipiac pulls away late to beat Manhattan 63-59
RIVERDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Tyrese Williams and Travis Atson made late 3-pointers to help Quinnipiac open the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference season with a 63-59 win over Manhattan on Thursday night.
Williams' 3 with 1:54 left in the game gave the Bobcats (6-6) the lead for good at 59-56 and Atson extended the lead to six at the 29-second mark.
The Jaspers (2-11) trailed for most of the second half until a 7-1 run tied it at 56 on Nehemiah Mack's 3-pointer with 3:58 left in the game.
Quinnipiac beats Bethune-Cookman 87-63 behind Young, Marfo
HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Cameron Young hit three 3-pointers and finished with 18 points to lead six Quinnipiac players in double figures and the Bobcats beat Bethune-Cookman 87-63 on Wednesday night for the Wildcats' fifth straight loss.
Kevin Marfo scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Travis Atson added 13 points for Quinnipiac (5-5), which shot 47 percent and never trailed. Jacob Rigoni and Rich Kelly scored 12 apiece and Tyrese Williams added 10 with six assists.
Demir, Drexel rally from 16-point deficit, beat Quinnipiac
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Alihan Demir scored 15 of his career-high 26 points in the second half to help Drexel overcome a 16-point deficit and beat Quinnipiac 92-83 on Sunday night at the Basketball Hall of Fame Holiday Showcase.
Troy Harper scored 19 points — including 13 after halftime — and Freshman Camren Wynter had 18 points, seven rebounds, six assists and a season-high four steals for Drexel (6-5).
Young with 28, Quinnipiac cruises past Lafayette 88-77
HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Cameron Young scored 28 points and led six players in double-figure scoring as Quinnipiac cruised past Lafayette 88-77 on Saturday.
The Bobcats (4-4) capped a 23-13 start with back-to-back 3-pointers by Tyrese Williams and Travis Atson then stretched it to 41-23 on a Cameron Young layup with 5:22 left in the half. They led 45-30 at the break.
Williams scores 19 in Quinnipiac’s 58-50 win
HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Tyrese Williams made four 3-pointers and scored a career-high 19 points with seven rebounds, Aaron Robinson hit big shots in the second half and Quinnipiac rallied in the second half to beat Maine 58-50 on Sunday.
Robinson, who finished with 11 points off the bench, made three 3-pointers in the second half, one that gave the Bobcats the lead for good and started an 11-2 run, and two more in an 8-2 spurt, that left Quinnipiac ahead by nine with 1½ minutes to go.
