SEC FOOTBALL FOCUS: Florida relishing in miracle win, Tennessee explains how the ‘fluke’ happened
Fresh from the bottom of a mountainous dog pile and thrown in front of CBS cameras, Florida sophomore receiver Tyrie Cleveland — still trying to catch his breath — couldn't put into words what just happened.
What the former track star from Houston knew for certain, though, was that he's probably never run faster in his life than he did when he took off from Tennessee's 36-yard line with just 9 seconds to play in Saturday's game on a dead sprint to the end zone.
KNOXVILLE — Players on both sidelines were getting ready for overtime. Tennessee offensive linemen were talking with coaches about the plays that might be called and the Florida defense was catching its breath after giving up the game-tying field goal moments earlier.
Then, the game was over. Feleipe Franks completed a 63-yard pass to Tyrie Cleveland and the planning stopped. Neither side expected that finish, so just exactly were the Vols expecting to see on that final play?
