UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a fast-moving house fire in southwestern Pennsylvania has left a 5-year-old boy and his 7-year-old sister dead.
The fire in South Union was reported around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say the home in Fayette County was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and the bodies were found a short time later.

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — State police say a woman is facing a criminal homicide charge following the stabbing death of a man at a western Pennsylvania hotel on Christmas Day.
Police in Fayette County said troopers responded to the Holiday Inn Express in South Union Township at about 2 p.m. Tuesday found the 25-year-old victim in the lobby "with a wound to his neck and a blood trail from the lobby to a nearby room." He was pronounced dead at Uniontown Hospital.

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — State police say a suspect was arrested after a stabbing death at a western Pennsylvania hotel on Christmas Day.
Police in Fayette County said troopers responded to the Holiday Inn Express off Route 40 in South Union Township at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said a suspect was in custody but released no other information about that person, the victim or the circumstances of the stabbing.
West Virginia University suspends fraternity, students
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia University has suspended a fraternity chapter and several students after a student fell while visiting at the fraternity house.
The university said 22-year-old senior finance major David Rusko of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, fell down stairs at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house on Saturday. WVU said in a news release that Rusko was left unconscious by the fall and was taken to a hospital.
Garbage truck barrels into police station; no injuries
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a driverless garbage truck barreled down a western Pennsylvania hill and rammed into a police station, damaging the building and police cars. No injuries were reported.
Capt. David Rutter of Uniontown police said his car was demolished in the accident shortly before 9:30 a.m. Monday. He estimated damage at "tens of thousands of dollars."

Many homes affected by Thursday's rare tornado in Uniontown have been cleared for residents to return, officials said Monday.
But 22 buildings were destroyed and nine more were heavily damaged, said Thomas Perez, operations coordinator for The Salvation Army's emergency disaster services unit.
A rare February tornado with wind gusts up to 105 mph tore a path of destruction through part of Uniontown Thursday night, ripping off roofs and stripping siding from homes and businesses, toppling trees and leaving debris strewn in the streets.
A deluge of rain and strong winds that pummeled the region overnight left residents, businesses and emergency responders working for a second day on waterlogged homes and flooded roadways from Ligonier to Uniontown to Pittsburgh.

The National Weather Service also says the tornado that touched down in Uniontown at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday was the first tornado to strike the region in February since 1950.
