Titans have safety Kenny Vaccaro available vs. Redskins
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have starting safety Kenny Vaccaro available against the Washington Redskins after he worked his way through the concussion protocol.
That leaves the Titans (8-6) without only a pair of defensive starters. Linebacker Brian Orakpo is missing his second straight game with an injured elbow and cornerback Logan Ryan is on injured reserve with a broken left leg.

All will be recognized and participate in NFL functions during Super Bowl week. The Man of the Year will be revealed at NFL Honors, when The Associated Press' individual NFL awards are announced Feb. 2 in Atlanta.
FANTASY PLAYS: Burning questions for NFL Week 10
A look at some key fantasy football questions for Week 10:
WHICH UNDER THE RADAR PLAYERS HAVE THE BEST CHANCE FOR A BIG GAME THIS WEEK?
Several Washington players — quarterback Alex Smith, running back Adrian Peterson, wide receiver Maurice Harris and tight end Vernon Davis — all have the potential to post big numbers this week against the Buccaneers.
Redskins’ offense has scored 1 2nd-half TD all season
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Locked in a 7-7 tie against the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins took the second-half kickoff and drove to first-and-goal at the 9.
On first down, Alex Smith had tight end Jeremy Sprinkle open in the end zone, but they were not on the same page and the throw was incomplete. On third down from the 1, Adrian Peterson took a handoff and ran into teammate Vernon Davis, resulting in a 2-yard loss.
Most coaches, players not happy about Jets, Redskins scuffle
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Trumaine Johnson shoved Morgan Moses after a play, Trent Williams came to his teammate's defense and within seconds the multiplayer melee spilled into the crowd.
And that was just Day One of the joint workouts between the New York Jets and Washington Redskins.
As free agency played out, Redskins tight end Vernon Davis reached out to Kirk Cousins' once the quarterback's deal with the Minnesota Vikings became official.
While Davis made it clear he's excited to reunite with Alex Smith, Davis said he told Cousins that he was going to miss him. Cousins and Davis played two seasons together.
In 2017, Davis had 648 receiving yards and three touchdowns his most since 2013. Cousins, throwing him the ball, obviously helped play a part in that.
Vernon Davis and Alex Smith have spent almost as much time apart as they were together. The tight end-quarterback duo spent six years with the San Francisco 49ers, but theyve been on different teams for the last five seasons.
Over those years, Davis has kept a close eye on Smith and hes excited to pair with him, again.
The Redskins began the start of their offseason program Monday, reuniting Davis and Smith for the first time since the quarterbacks trade to the Redskins in January.
8 finalists for Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award announced
NEW YORK (AP) — Veterans Joe Thomas, Antonio Gates and Vernon Davis are among eight finalists for the NFL's Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
Also announced Monday as finalists are Luke Kuechly, Haloti Ngata, Joe Staley, Josh McCown and Alex Smith.
Redskins pretty much out of playoffs after loss to Cowboys
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — One thing the Washington Redskins almost certainly won't have to worry about this year is a must-win game in the season finale to make the playoffs.
The Redskins pretty much took themselves out of the postseason picture before the calendar even turned to December, which happened soon after their 38-14 loss Thursday night to the Dallas Cowboys still without suspended running back Ezekiel Elliott.
Redskins don’t see benefit in having NFL’s toughest schedule
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — No team in the NFL has faced a tougher schedule so far than the Washington Redskins.
Through nine games, Redskins opponents have a combined record of 52-30, and four of Washington's five losses have come against first-place teams. They bear the scars from that rough road, but don't want to be graded on a curve.
LANDOVER Entering Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins had had a lot of success with personnel groupings featuring tight ends Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis. Coach Jay Gruden even mixed in a third tight end, Niles Paul, to add to the offense's dynamic.
Redskins’ Vernon Davis going strong and long downfield at 33
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Jay Gruden will have what Vernon Davis is having.
Marveling at the physical condition of the 33-year-old tight end, the Washington Redskins coach asked Davis what he had for lunch and came away saying, "We should all get on the Vernon Davis diet." Davis is careful about what he eats, trains his body and his mind and is on pace for one of his best seasons in his 12th year in the NFL.
Tight end becoming focal point of NFL offenses
If you were watching NFL games last weekend — and for much of the season — and didn't notice Zach Ertz and Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis and Rob Gronkowski, well, you probably weren't watching very carefully.
Tight end, not too long ago almost an afterthought for many teams, has become a critical spoke in the offensive wheel.
Redskins seek to fix offensive woes before facing Cowboys
WASHINGTON (AP) — With over a third of the Washington Redskins' offensive touchdowns, third-down back Chris Thompson is a must-start, fantasy football dream.
Thompson is enjoying a breakout season and is a major reason Washington (3-3) and staying competitive amid a lot of injuries. His performance is also masking a host of offensive woes.
Cowboys’ Jerry Jones reignites protest conversation in NFL
DALLAS (AP) — Now that Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys has become the first NFL owner with a public suggestion of repercussions for displays during the national anthem, players are opening up more about the delicate balance of team chemistry and politics in the locker room.
And they're not necessarily slamming the powerful and outspoken Jones for suggesting his players will be benched if they disrespect the flag.
Redskins come up big in prime time, rout Raiders 27-10
LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — Convinced no one outside their locker room gave them a chance to beat the Oakland Raiders, the Washington Redskins put together the kind of complete performance that made them worthy of the prime-time spotlight.
Kirk Cousins threw for 365 yards and three touchdowns, Chris Thompson had 188 all-purpose yards and a score and the Redskins sacked Derek Carr four times, forced three turnovers and held the Raiders to 128 yards in a dominating 27-10 victory on Sunday night.
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden says he doesn't believe Jordan Reed's toe injury is serious and expects the tight end to be back on the field next week.
The Redskins placed Reed on the physically unable to perform list to start training camp. Reed can be activated at any time.
Gruden said Reed was experiencing soreness in his big toe that was causing him to overcompensate, including twisting his ankle.
WASHINGTON (AP) — When Vernon Davis mentioned after his 11th NFL season that he'd like to play six more, it brought some laughs.
He wasn't kidding.
Davis believes he can play for more than another half-decade and took a big step toward that goal by re-signing with the Washington Redskins on a three-year contract. The 33-year-old revealed the length of the deal on his Snapchat account late Tuesday night, and the team announced the new contract Wednesday morning.
Cousins, Jackson and Garcon dominate Redskins’ uncertainty
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — From controlling their playoff hopes to cleaning out their lockers 12 hours later, the Washington Redskins face an uncertain offseason with the potential for a major upheaval.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon head a list of 15 unrestricted free agents the Redskins must make decisions on in the coming months.
Redskins tight end Vernon Davis enjoying career renaissance
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — When Vernon Davis didn't produce like his young self, he understood the questions.
"Everybody starts to worry," Davis said. "They're like: 'Hey guys, we need to figure it out: Can Vernon still play?'"
Quarterback Kirk Cousins wondered "what's left in the tank" for Davis when the Washington Redskins signed the veteran tight end after the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos decided they didn't need him.
Redskins place tight end Niles Paul on injured reserve
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — The Washington Redskins have placed tight end Niles Paul on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
Coach Jay Gruden made the announcement Monday as the Redskins returned to practice after their bye week. Gruden says Paul will need surgery to repair his injured labrum.
Paul is Washington's No. 3 tight end behind Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis, their fullback when needed and a special teams ace. He's also the special teams captain.
Redskins RB Matt Jones misses practice with knee injury
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Washington Redskins running back Matt Jones was held out of practice Wednesday with a knee injury.
Coach Jay Gruden says Jones reported soreness while moving laterally and pain when cutting. It's unclear how the injury will affect Jones' availability for the Redskins' game Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals in London.

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was fined $24,309 by the NFL on Friday for taking off his helmet during a touchdown celebration last Sunday against Baltimore.
ICYMI in NFL’s Week 6: Can’t celebrate in ‘No Fun League’
LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — The unsportsmanlike conduct penalty Washington Redskins tight end Vernon Davis drew after a TD for shooting the football at the goalpost like a basketball at a rim is precisely why people joke that "NFL" stands for "No Fun League."
Without TE Jordan Reed, Redskins can lean on Vernon Davis
LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — Vernon Davis can retire his jump shot, but the rest of his all-around game comes in handy for the Washington Redskins.
The veteran tight end caught a touchdown pass as the Redskins (4-2) won their fourth in a row, and he could be counted on to start again next Sunday at the Detroit Lions (3-3) if Jordan Reed misses another game. Reed is out with a concussion, his sixth documented one in his college and pro career.

Before the Washington Redskins made it out of the preseason in 2015, they lost tight ends Niles Paul and Logan Paulsen to season-ending injuries.
