MILWAUKEE (AP) — Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo left Tuesday night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers with a bruised right foot.
The injury occurred when Rizzo fouled a ball off his foot in the third inning while batting against Milwaukee starter Wade Miley. Rizzo stayed in the game until being replaced on a double-switch in the sixth. Victor Caratini took over at first.
The NL Central-leading Cubs said X-rays on Rizzo's foot were negative.

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — The Seattle Mariners are hopeful Felix Hernandez will miss only one spring training start due to a bruised right forearm sustained when hit by a line drive.
Seattle manager Scott Servais said Thursday that Hernandez still has some swelling in his arm and the team hopes the injury is just a minor setback.
"He's anxious, but you do have to let it run its course a little bit," Servais said.

Hernandez said Tuesday he is still very sore a day after a liner off the bat of the Chicago Cubs' Victor Caratini hit Hernandez in the right forearm.
The injury happened in Hernandez's first spring training start and left the right-hander feeling pain he's rarely felt in his career.

The veteran catcher joined the Cubs on Sunday and started their 6-5, 10-inning victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. He singled in his first plate appearance in the third and scored on Albert Almora Jr.'s three-run double.
"I'm ready any time they need me," Rivera said before his successful debut.
The 34-year-old Rivera also drew raves from starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks for his work behind the plate.

The 34-year-old Rivera is known for his defensive skills. He has thrown out 10 of 31 runners attempting to steal this season. He is batting .230 with eight homers and 23 RBIs in 54 games.
