Demi Lovato deletes Twitter account over 21 Savage backlash
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Singer Demi Lovato has deleted her Twitter account following criticism that she was laughing at memes about 21 Savage.
The Grammy-nominated rapper was taken into federal immigration custody in the Atlanta area early Sunday. An official says the rapper is a British citizen who overstayed his visa and is also has a felony conviction.
BOSTON (AP) — A bodyguard for rapper Wale has been accused of carrying a loaded firearm near a Boston nightclub without a license and has been arrested.
The Boston Globe reports (http://bit.ly/2rkV3qZ ) Eric Miller pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a large-capacity feeding device. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.
2 men arrested in fatal shooting of DC rapper Swipey
WASHINGTON (AP) — Two District of Columbia men have been arrested in connection with the slaying of the up-and-coming rapper known as Swipey.
19-year-old Diante Brewer and 18-year-old Deshawn Watkins have been accused of fatally shooting 18-year-old Douglas Brooks during an attempted robbery outside a party at a family member's apartment complex in Suitland in August.
Brooks had already performed alongside rappers including Fat Joe and Wale, a Washington native.
Teen fatally shot in Md. was up-and-coming rapper
SUITLAND, Md. (AP) — An 18-year-old man fatally shot near his home in Suitland was an up-and-coming rapper.
Prince George's County police say Douglas Brooks was found fatally shot outside an apartment complex early Sunday morning. Brooks' manager, Kevin Baldwin of the record label M.O.P3, tells The Washington Post (http://tinyurl.com/hv665aw) that Brooks was better known as Swipey.
